Big Brother returning to NZ TV

Great news, but I came in here hoping there will be a Big Brother New Zealand. I was about to say, Southern Hemisphere Big Brother is about to take over the world!

I was also hoping we would be able to watch BB NZ :(
 
I had just assumed NZ would have been getting our version this year already. Thats a bummer, but cool that they get it next year.

Although they should just do their own, it may be end up being better than ours?

Haha, sorry to dissapoint. It may happen if BBAU does well in NZ
 
Interesting. If it's not a repeat of this season, does that confirm NINE has decided to go again next year?

I thought it could be a new season, because surely they wouldn't air a series months after it went to air?

They do it most other reality shows, I don't see why BB would be different. It does seem weird though, I admit.

This looks good for BB coming back next year, but I won't hold my breath.

I know they do, but wouldn't It would be a big risk airing BB, which goes for more than 3 months, over 6 months after it first airs?

People could find out who wins, very early on in the show and if they don't like them they may stop watching. I don't really know if that would happen (hope it dosen't!) but it could.
 
In 2005, TV2 weren't able to fit BBAU2005 into the schedule when it started, but as they had already committed to airing it, it aired at 1pm on weekdays on a three week delay. So it could possibly be BBAU2014...
 
Oh yeah I see what you're saying... I guess it's not uncommon for people to have spoilers for other realty shows if they are recorded ahead of time, or if they are watching it a few years later (as I know people do for The Block amd Next Top Model, for example). It begs the question of the enjoyment factor from viewing is lessened by knowing the winner. I feel like it would be, but at the same time... maybe not.
 
Goes to show that Big Brother isn't a live reality TV show anymore, it's a soap opera that can be televised six months late.
