BBUS - Season 25

Who'd have thought we'd get to the point where BBUSA is the version we look to in order to do Big Brother properly.

Hello BB AU friends :)

BB AU got me hooked on BB in 2005. I remember the Usenet real time chats while the show was broadcasting in AU back then :)

BB US will never do BB properly. The BB US producers are ignorant of what the BB show is all about. They put more importance of how that Chenbot presenter places her feet in a specific angle on live eviction shows, than what is happening between house-guests (or house-mates).

The best English speaking BB is a tie between AU and UK where Big Brother is an actual character of the show, not some random production temporary interns that give house-guests information in the diary room, when the house-guests even know the names of the production assistants, etc.

I've been streaming BB US live for about 25 years, but I can't post links here, can I? :) It's a very time intensive commitment and given the 15 hour or so difference between US 8pm Eastern / 7pm Central time of the live show, the time in your place would be some time early in the mornings depending on AU East or West Coast. PM me if you want a link, anyway :)

Let's hope for a decent BB US Season. We already know 3 previous HGs are coming back. One of them is trash, one is meh-so-so, the other one should have won her original season but didn't because of a BB US production fuck up.

See you soon :)

Another blah premiere… That said the way they’re hyping this anniversary has been a nice change. Definitely feels a lot more of a special event than it has in the past.

And to be fair they almost always reference BB1 now when talking about their history.

Indeed as much of a CBS Quern that Cirie is would be quite interesting to put a BB1 houseguest in the mix. That would test the Superfan claims.

The launch ep was pretty boring I can't lie. Anyone could just watch the houseguest's intro clips if they really wanted to, and theres no reason to watch the competitions to see the nominees at all. It is good that night one feeds are offered, but the whole episode is so stretched out. Live launches worked better for BBUK, and even though AU didn't always do them live I found the format pacing was much better along with the UK. One housemate at a time getting introduced and interviewed briefly on stage or just going through the crowd. There was a lot more hype felt.

As much as I can acknowledge the US version is probably one of the only remaining formats that is completly faithful to the show, I still feel as a series whole the live shows feel so flat in comparison. There isn't much that can really be done to solve it though.

Really keen to see how Cirie does. I hope she does well and I am so excited to finally see a Survivor player on Big Brother. I mean, aside from Luke on the VIP version down here. I have an inkling she may not be long for the game, unless there are some survivor super fans who are in awe of her. But that could just as much lead to a steamroll.

The cast seems fairly likeable. I could not get into last season at all because I did not click with the cast. But I do seem to like this group based on first impressions (keeping in mind I also said this about BBAU 2014....). Really excited to watch this season, I haven't had a RTV show to watch in months.

Team Cirie! or Matt. Time to enjoy the feeds that I paid too much money for and spent too much time to figure out how to access.

BB1 is still the red headed step child of the franchise but still very nice to see it is being mentioned (even if Julie did kind of over exaggerate its perceived failures in the special).

Aside from George going in for a third time I really don’t think they could find someone in that cast willing to do it again.

Did they axe the live audiences again? Are we back to Julie just standing there for a few seconds pretending there is applause when returning from commercial breaks?

Huh, I thought the spoiler post worked from my phone but I guess not.

Feed spoilers:
Izzy pretty much immediately clocked Jared is Cirie's son (you might've caught a glimpse of her doing a pinky swear with him during the premiere credits). Allegedly she'd read rumours pre-show that Cirie and JD were going to be cast. She's promised to not tell anyone and is trying to get in TIGHT with Cirie.

I won't get round to the premiere till either later tonight or tomorrow but looking at the live feed spoilers:

Seems yet again a female HoH opted to nominate female HGs. Four were automatically nominated from the first competition and as HoH Reilly chose to save the two guys. This is why it's always an uphill battle for women in Big Brother. It happens year after year and psychologically it's interesting how the men will generally protect each other and the women will almost always turn over each other. Still think we're to have any noteable all female alliance.

Awful premiere - they've just not nailed the live launch at all. The cast though is so strong - really diverse and most of them seem to have a brain. Doesn't mean they'll be Big Brother smart but should mean they're at least vaguely interesting.

Imagine if the producers had braincells too. The idea of the multiverse is actually quite good but the execution was terrible - felt like I was being read poor fan fiction than watching it playing out on TV.

Its not as simple as that. Kirsten got on everyone's nerves by gaming too hard on night one, and Felicia is well-engrained and has been kept OTB as a pawn. Jared is also part of the outer layer of Reilly's onion alliance.

Is always an excuse to do it though - and often the men that stay off the block as a pawn, though understandable Jared would be a risk to go home.

Also had the chance to watch the 25th Anniversary Special which was surprisingly well done and covered alot in an hour. Felt pacey yet detailed and left you wanting more, unlike the premiere.

Most of the things "fans may not know" from that special I absolutely did know except one - that during lockdowns game talk is supposedly banned and they have to talk about life instead. Surely can't be the case all the time as lockdowns are usually prior to the Veto - so when nonsense are being discussed - or prior to HoH, so when the nominees are campaigning.

As they say "expect the unexpected".

Producers have kicked out a houseguest for breaching the shows "code of conduct". Yes - they have a code of conduct. Indeed, from the show that gave us BB15 and BB21 they've kicked someone out for using a racial slur - the N-word.

The housemate concerned was Luke

Found the clip on TMZ: https://www.tmz.com/2023/08/09/big-...valentine-n-word-conversation/?adid=social-tw

Yes, he's a douchebag. Just using it casually and laughing it off, can't even argue he was quoting something he perhaps shouldn't (which IIRC is how Emily got into trouble in BB8 UK).
