Well the house is nice, so that's a positive I guess. Not fussed on the two hosts, no clue who they are, really. I do like the older lady Farida ? and Yinrun. Can't stand Jenkin already, he's the type I always find does my head in. Oh, the two fellas comparing perms was funny. Tom looks like a 12 year old who's grown some bum fluff to make him look older. Very baby faced.

Always Watching 👀
I just watched the eipsode then. It was really well produced. I love that there is such a diversity in the house. The house is great, really shows when something is well planned and executed. Although I know its a 6 week series and likely this layout will be the base for future series, I am not mad about it.
Launch stage looked awesome at night all lit up. Really like some of the housemates so far too, Jenkin is doing my head in though.
Hosts are great, I like the idea of a duo hosting to bounce off each other and they are young, fresh and have a good energy. Will is pretty damn nice to look at too.....
Some have commented on the music being annyoing, to be honest when you compare that to what 7 have done with the production music throughout, I think UK had that executed well. Odd to hear mainstream music though, I know BBAU always avoided it.
Overall I am impressed and will continue to watch!

I enjoyed it, will need to get into the meat of it once it gets going. Hopefully it pops up on the high seas sooner in future days.
Hmm. Gave the first episode a go. Too overly produced for my liking, WAY more gimmicky than I expected (hoped) it'd be and much of the same thing. Nothing new or original about it. Plus, that almost identical reproduction of the BBAU intro (7 era) turned me off from the very start.
In fact, with the new BB voice and those shitty games between housemate arrivals, I'm sorry but this is obviously nothing more than a slightly more polished version of the current BBAU that Endemol are now serving up worldwide.
Kinda boring batch of personalities too, although kudos for the diversity.
The best part was Will Best.

I totally agree. The diversity is great, I wish BBAU could put together a cast like they do.
Will is also extremely good looking![]()
They should have put him in a similar outfit to AJ.

Wahoo!
Just finished watching it. The Launch was a bit... meh.
It felt too odd watching it because it wasn't live, so there were all the random cuts as the housemates were leaving the car and entering the house. The party games stuff was a terrible idea. Would've preferred that since they had pre-recorded the launch that they just left that stuff out and focused on the HM's learning about each other so that we could also learn a bit about them - since their VTs and brief interview before going in told us basically nothing about a lot of them. That was one thing that previous iterations absolutely nailed in comparison.
Late & Live, I got about six minutes in before I switched it off. Especially after hearing that they're keeping that panel around all week - considering I don't know who the hell they are, why would I care about their opinions? Seems to be a copy/paste of BotS which I never enjoyed either.

Well if it's a reflection of 2023 then no surprise at least one housemate has done OnlyFans. Not something that should be viewed negatively nowadays really.
That's the problem though reality shows have nowadays when casting a bit of eye candy - the pics and footage of them in the flesh is likely already out there. But of course in 2023 no self respecting producer would select the entire cast of a series nowadays just solely based on the "dreamy housemates" being "sexy singles".

Same. Couldn't be bothered after watching about 10 minutes.Late & Live, I got about six minutes in before I switched it off.
Just finished the launch.
Titles and theme: The rainbow colouring is a little basic but the close up faces gave me nostalgic vibes. New theme song is great.
Launch show: I get it's 2023 and you need to get straight to the point but the pacing of the show was a little odd. Did some of the housemates give really dull interviews and that's why they were cut? A few camera changes to loved ones in the audience who were never introduced.
I do remember back when BBAU ditched having truely live launches (because of us streaming the audio? hehe) that we had the same complaints about odd editing. I guess when you don't have enough footage to play around with you make do. I found the party games fairly cute and nostalgic.
The production values of the exploding suitcase were shockingly bad.
Housemates: Seems like really good casting. A few predictable BBUK type moments. Like when Trish said in her intro that she hates Tories, I thought "100% certainty that three housemates later we're going to have a loud wanky Tory". Sure enough! I want to see Chanelle get white girl wasted. Need shower pix of Dylan asap
Hosts: What in the actual fuck? There is like... zero chemistry or charisma between them? It felt like I was watching AI reconstitute previous hosts. It seems like off-camera they secretly hate each other.
House: At this stage I could take it or leave it. I like that it's bigger but there's not really any consistent design to it - just max out the colours which has been happening in BB houses for some time now. Maybe trying to go for nostalgic factor again?
BB Voice: Are they going to try and use the same voice for the whole season? Cos that is shit. The "cheeky" Big Brother personality wasn't nearly as bad as BBAU but still not great.
Overall: Loved it. Nostalgic romp. But keyword is definitely nostalgic. Did ITV say they were trying to change up the format? (I wasn't paying attention to the lead-up). Because it certainly seemed like they were trying to go in the nostalgic direction with the launch.

Are you really trying to tell me they didn't explode a suitcase ? CrikeyJust finished the launch.

It’s glossier than I would have preferred (the slow mo edit of then getting out the cars etc), but I didn’t mind the hybrid of the first night highlights and the ‘live’ move-in.
I thought Will put in the strongest performance of the night - AJ seemed nervous, which I can understand.
The house looks great on screen and they have chosen some fantastic housemates. I hated the pre-titles BB Australia monologue, and also the childish launch night games, but overall it's great to have the show back. It lives or dies on the housemate selection, and fortunately I think we have an excellent crop of housemates!

Just finished too. The thing I'm wondering is how they're going to pace the evictions and nominations vs the sheer number of Housemates theyve thrown in and it only being six weeks. They've already given Olivia a secret mission to save herself from the vote like in BB6, only this time its try and avoid being ranked 'least entertaining' because as the others already know she's up for the vote.
It's going to take me a little time as usual without getting a visualiser/floor plan to get acquainted with the House layout in relation to each other but It is a lot roomier and compartmentalised. And the decor is very modernised, but its fine you can still get hints of some of the earlier 'classic house' feel with a few touches here and there. The Diary room button, etc.
The lighting is a bit Interesting too, like theyre able to just put on 'dance party' mode without the need for extra equipment being brought in, and the lights went all game show for pass the parcel, maybe a touch theatrical (along with the visualiser of the suitcase being blown up) but Its funny what theyve got built in nowadays.
Theyve got an interesting mix of housemates, Just it'll be interesting with how many and how long the series is whether there'll be more under the radar action for a few. We'll see.
