BB27 USA - starts 10 July

Such a bull shit fucking twist. This was Rachel’s best game so far and she was really showing that she’s matured and changed since BB12/13. The only thing that makes me not as mad is at least she’s already had her win.

I was almost about to say this season has been probably my favourite of the post all stars era, but I will very quickly retract that.

Need to see how the twist plays out but they always lose marks for not being live and resulting in feeds blackouts.

I'm not sure the US has done a twist where someone is eliminated outside the usual format (other than at launch) so kind of intrigued what they've done, even if it is bullshit.

Their highest profile HG being the victim though means an instant backlash, but then the fanbase are clearly fickle. They were happy to accept the dethroned HoH not having immunity when that was Rylie despite similar twists previously usually having the caveat of immunity.

I think the closest they got to it was at F4 on OTT, when the HoH picked somebody to take to the finale with them and then the two remaining houseguests competing for the final spot.

Sounds like they used a format similar to the Reindeer Games challenge where you select players to complete a challenge with decreasing time abd if they fail they're evicted. That was the standout moment of Reindeer Games and involved strategy in determining the order of play and skill in surviving the challenge so although it's not the regular format I don't think it's completely unfair, though might have been better if it resulted in two nominees rather than an immediate evictee.

I never watched but from what I know Reindeer Games was a completely different format from a regular series… There may have been strategy to it but this is up there with BBCAN’s instant eviction. Unexpected, yes but definitely not BB.

Premiere date set for 10th July - confirmed all new houseguests. Usual Sun, Wed, Thu scheduling, though Wed episodes extended to 90 minutes. Live feed return on Pluto and Paramount plus a new spin off show BB Unlocked led by three All Star HMs to be announced airing on alternate Fridays.

I have been casually watching BBUSA 2025 while living/working here for the American summer. Ava is my favorite housemate.

This series reminds me of the loathed Channel 7 era of Big Brother Australia, complete with endless challenges, Strat chat, and music overuse.

The fact there are live feeds, some challenges which are not just strength-based, and live evictions, are keeping me tuned in. :)

Gave up on this season a few weeks in and I’ve really only been following through updates on TikTok. Very tame compared to how chaotic last years season was.

It’s a shame because I was really enjoying the season up until yesterday. The first month was uninspired but Ava’s HoH, Rachel’s HoH, Vince’s 2nd HoH and even Keanu’s had me invested.

I’ve been on jokers day in and day out and I’ve had the feeds on my tv whenever I’m home, and this twist just killed it for me.

Last year’s chaos was great, but died when Angela got evicted and Chelsie steamrolled her way (with the use of MJ) to a really boring yet impressive win. 23 and 24 are very meh seasons to me but I’ll still contend that 25’s cast deserved better than the bullshit twists and comps that were given.

I’m yet to actually watch a complete BBUS season live and actually enjoy it all the way through and also see someone I’m actually rooting for taking it out. BBUK can’t come soon enough because I’m kinda feeling like BBUS just won’t ever scratch that itch for me. Which is sad since I’ve finally come around to it after years of loathing it.

As Survivor’s Sophie Clark once said, BBUS is a show that annually disappoints…

This season had so much promise too which makes it hard not to be enjoying it. As for BBUK I’m sorry but ITV’s ridiculous mandates and their zero tolerance copyright policy have killed any enjoyment for me. BBAU I think is probably the only series I’m really interested in at this point and even then if they don’t go all in for the 2026 series or start throwing in way too many gimmicks I’m going to be extremely disappointed.

I've not bothered with the last couple of seasons. I've seen though one of the HGs (Will I think) made a good point about how strategy has gone out of the window with the "Blockbuster" as HoH's can no longer have a target. Initially that was perhaps a good thing but long term not sure it is.

As I've been saying for a while though I think pacing is a huge problem and doubling the pace would help. Now CBS are willing to give them the extra time I do think switching to four episodes a week with an eviction every other episode and cutting the length of the series to around 8 weeks (so still delivering around 32 episodes) could be really beneficial - especially for the live feeds where rather than everything being crammed in over three days then three days of downtime they'd basically be non-stop game play.
