I'm gonna dump all my opinions in one post. Brace yourselves.
Its only week 3 and not much has happened yet to really give this season it's own identity aside from being the season with Rachel, but I am enjoying it. As chaotic as last season was I did struggle with liking the cast, this year I feel almost the oppsite. I do like the cast more than last years but there isn't really any chaos happening. But its still early days.
A big positive I have to say is thank god there is no giant steamrolling alliance created as of yet. I feel like this is the first season is a long while without a 100% solidified group forming or dominating a portion of the game. I guess the pentagon last year was short lived but it still existed. I am behind on the feeds tho and haven't checked jokers as much as I did in week 1. But I have mostly felt like there wasn't much happening last week and this week post veto meeting.
I do like the intro, the "who will win $750,000" feels very "Who wins You decide" esc. The music needs a remix tho, I am so over this BB15/BB16 theme thats been used for way too long. I always liked the BB10-14 era intro, but that might just be because that was when I was getting into BB so I remember those from old memories.
I watched unlocked and it didn't really add much, as I expected it not to. But, it still ads some fun and makes BB feel more like the televised event that BBAU and UK are (or were....) but I can't help but agree about the hosts. Taylor I find is better as a character on the shows rather than a presenter. Her story is great but I can't help but feel she works better as a contestant, as for Derrick I found him boring in 2014 and I still do in 2025. I get that they want winners and they kind of do need to be sort of modern to fit the brief, but there are better options out there. Just thank god its not Cody, Jag or Xavier. If only Jun was more involved these days, I'd love to see her on screen again.
As for the players; Ava is my runaway favourite, she is up there amongst my favourite modern BB casting choices along with Angela and Felicia. She is so unique, real and is also a really great social player. She seems so well insulated in the house and I can see her possibly sneaking her way to the end game. She may get sniped out of the game due to being a jury threat but I am really excited to see where her game goes.
Rachel has been fine so far, I am actually impressed with her managing to suppress her threat level better than she did in BB13. Granted however I am sure many of the players look at her as someone they fear may be too determined and might win the block buster so they might see nominating her as pointless until jury starts and she can be backdoored. Although watching her on the feeds is such a different experience to watcing her on BB12/13 and TAR 20/24. I have always known from reading stuff online that most of her antics are hammed up for the cameras when in reality she is really nice, as said by Britney, Ragan and as well as Daniele. I do enjoy her but I can't help but notice it more when looking at scenes such as the beef with Zae and Keanu. I don't see her making it very far and wouldn't even be surprised if she's a late prejury boot, I hope to see her go deep tho and watching her become the first ever 2 time winner when Dan, Nicole or even Dr. Will couldn't would be a hilarious outcome for the show's canon.
Vince I notice is in A LOT of alliances, which I do like to see a player being really active but he'll probably get caught up in trouble from it, I am also really attracted to him for some reason lol. Morgan reminds me a bit of Vanessa from BB17 and I do like that she is active in the game. I like Mickey but don't see too much from her but I am interested to see what she does with her power and it will probably benefit Rachel. I like Will but he has seemingly given up and might be on his way out. Ashley is ok as she is a number for Rachel but I can't say I like her (weird as I was really high on her pre-season).
Keanu and Kelley are fun chaotic players and I would prefer Kelley wins the Block Buster so she can continue this really strange yet unique strategy of weaponising the pawn position, although I would say she's probably in contention to be one of the worst players of all time. Lauren IMO also won HOH at a horrible time as she was perfectly playing the middle. Adrian and Zach don't do much for me and I cannot stand Jimmy or Rylie. I also almost forgot to even include Katherine in this post lol.
