Australian Idol 2024

Shows how good my memory is! 🤯
I dug a little deeper on that software bit, they didn't mention that on the show. But people were showing off on Twitter about how they were doing this, with footage attached showing the constant stream of hundreds of text messages containing the same name. One of them was an immediate family member of Noora's.

On the flip side, I didn't mind Denvah. Bit of a one trick pony and I wouldn't be able to listen to a whole album of that yodeling, but she's not the worst. Was good to see her do something different.

Don't get the Drea hype. She wanted to convey emotion, so started crying after that very average singing performance. No thanks.

Ivana. Great singer, but boring as bat shit.

Dylan is great. He will win.

I thought Drea was astonishingly bad last night. Golden save for you! Bizarre.

Ivana is 20? She sings like a middleaged cruise ship singer.

Dylan always pulls this face when he sings as if he is incredibly constipated and trying to push one out.

Denvah's great. Poor TJ. Is he the one who deferred his degree with only 12 weeks to go to appear on this show?

I just caught the repeat, and Marcia is a bit ambiguous in her praise of TJ. She commends him for being brave and making the song relevant for young people, but mostly she takes the opportunity to send her prayers to John Farnham.
Maybe she thinks he needs them after hearing what they did to his song.

TJ's version of You're the Voice is stuck in my head.
Not the whole thing, just the bits that sounded like "Wer errrrr-er-er-er-er... Wer errrrr-er-er er-er".

I think the sound in the auditorium must be very different to what we are hearing on tv. I know there were complaints about the voices being too low in the mix when the program aired last week; but this week, they were too high in the mix! You could hear all the faults and flaws, but maybe what the judges were hearing was a better balance.

Amy has kicked things off with Can I Get a Moment by Jessica Mauboy. It was great, she got a standing ovation from the audience and all three judges. She just ran circles around everything we saw last night.

The judge who picked her song was Amy Shark.

Thankfully, it's not in mine. I hate ear worms (but they're in my head continuously) mine atm are all Dylan and Denvah performances and that's kind of ok.

Tyler - Chemical by Post Malone. He performed quite well. I think he's improved in this competition. It was better than the performance where he got the fast pass. His movement was a bit off in places and Kyle gave it a mention in his comments.
Amy would have been a hard act to follow.
Isaac is up next.
Edit: Oh, and Kyle had chosen the song.

Isaac started off a capella and pulled it off. It thought that was impressive. He didn't forget any lyrics, yay! Hopefully his issues with that are behind him. I like to see him do well.
It was an Ed Sheeran song, I missed the name of it. Can anyone remind me what it's called?

Trent - 3am by Matchbox 20. Um... Kyle is comparing the way Trent sings to Kermit the Frog.
Kyle chose the song.

Kiani - Tainted Love by Soft Cell. She changed it a bit, and slowed it down. That's obviously the speed she's most comfortable with. This week's song suited her better. She made an effort with last week's theme, but she isn't naturally a hopping and bopping party song girl.

Song chosen by Amy Shark.
