Thursday, 18th September 2014 - Daily Show

Overnight viewers: 748,000
Ranked in total people: 9

Demographics:
25-54 #2

Increased again from Wednesday to Thursday. Unusual but great to see!

It should have been a longer episode. So much less contrived content, until the stupid ultimate pair task...

Big Brother rebounds in the ratings

LESS is best for Big Brother after it rebounded from its lowest rating this season to re-enter the 10 most watched shows.
THE Nine Network reality series regularly runs about 90 minutes per episode and this week there has been a notable decline in viewer numbers.
On Wednesday it bottomed out with its lowest audience (634,000) for the year. However, on Thursday night, an hour long episode of the series, landed in ninth spot with 748,000 viewers. It also won its timeslot which is just as, if not more, important for Nine.
Big Brother was one of five Nine programs to make the top 10 in OzTAM's overnight ratings.

Yikes no big brother show has ever rated that badly. I'd say there is confusion from genpop in terms of when it was actually on air.

Do you think this has sparked the Tim entrance?

It seems like a sudden thing.

What were Fridays ratings on GO?
David Knox just answered my question regarding Big Brother's ratings.

Wow, horrible ratings for last night's daily show:

160,000 on Nine and 92,000 on GO! for a total of just 252,000.

Thanks, those ratings aren't good though. I bet they are glad that the Friday night Rugby League is probably finished now. They obviously should mention during Thursdays Big Brother that its on another channel or a different time on Fridays. Very poor communication by them.

No the ratings were not known until this morning.

They promote the GO! episode - channel and time every Thursday during the show.

Yeah and also they promote it on Facebook, Twitter and with ads throughout the day on Friday so really I'm not sure what more they could do. If someone doesn't know when it's on by that point then they probably never will.

Considering the overnight ratings only take into account people who have recorded it and viewed by 2am that night, I'll be interested to see what the consolidated ones are when they come out. Fridays are always going to be a hard ask as it is but when you're also going up against both footy code's semifinals I can't imagine they'd expect the overnight #s to be strong anyway. I suspect (hope) there will be a good chunk of people who recorded it and will watch either today or tomorrow.

This has become BBUSA and I hate that show. Actually it is worse, at least BBUSA has live feeds. I cannot believe my favorite show has become hard to watch and follow.
It's only people who don't watch BBUSA that make that comparison. The live feeds though probably are the difference - they put the broadcast shows into context, however they are edited.

So would I be correct is saying that since the ratings figures are fluctuating wildly on a daily basis, the 'core' loyal fanbase is actually pretty small this year?

It feels like people aren't really putting in the effort to follow this season. If it happens to be on when they're watching TV, they'll switch on though.

Yeah, results are fluctuating a lot this year.

I can't imagine they expect much better from the Friday show though.

Not true. The only Daily Show to ever air on GO! in 2012 rated lower - which was a shame because the plan was for 30 minute Daily Show, then 60 minute Eviction like the good old days but the plug was pulled after that one week. :(

That being said, this Friday's show would've rated worse than the 2012 episode had it aired on completely on GO! in all states since it was 'bulked up' with some ratings from airing on Nine.
