They're really good ratings!Idk if these rating are too bad IMO 2nd in all demos. Not bad. And winning the times lot. No bad either.
Yeah they don't especially care about the figures (unless it's over 1m), they care about how they compared to the other channels.
So if only 10 people were watching Big Brother but only 3 people were watching the other channels, Nine would still throw a massive party and release 5000 media releases about how they dominated.

I totally agree - it's hard to compare this year's ratings to last year's since there are simply more people awake earlier in the evenings. Especially if the episodes are longer and finish after 10pm, then you have to take into account the smaller potential audience size. And then you have to factor in that overall less and less people are watching TV these days too... I wonder if they can do more product placement advertising within the show to keep it profitable... maybe they could use the fact that the show has quite a large online following to get more money out of potential advertisers. Or maybe they already have and that's why the episodes don't get deleted from online sources like other shows tend to...
We've always thought that BB could do well in a post 8.30pm slot and considering how poor they're treating their fans it's not doing too badly at all.
I'm convinced though it would be doing far better if they were actually giving the format the respect it deserves and allowing it's audience to grow by actually allowing it's audience to see it outside of the broadcast hours. Even if the live feeds themselves lose money I'm convinced that is more than offset by the extra eyes the feeds and the chatter they generate can bring to the show. BB doesn't lose viewers when people see interesting things happen on the feeds - quite the opposite in fact.

Maybe this will make them keep the late timeslot... and make them realise that people actually enjoy when the show is targeted at an older demographic.
Yep impressive, they actually increased from Wed > Thurs.
I think it was because they finally got down to daily shows without the live element. IMO people are getting sick of the tacky elements in the live shows.
...speaking of tacky... that Diary room backdrop looks like someone was spraying cane chairs and the paint went onto the cardboard behind it... I mean... there's a distinct crease where where corner is... couldn't they have just rounded it out to to look like a continuous backdrop?... it looks like they ran out of money doing the house up and had none to finish off the Diary Room last... the backdrop looks like cardboard!... here is what I mean... cheers.

Yeah I don't get that at all. Why does it look unfinished? It looks ridiculous....speaking of tacky... that Diary room backdrop looks like someone was spraying cane chairs and the paint went onto the cardboard behind it... #2 non news and current affairs show.
The show was only one hour and finished at 9:40. That would be part of the reason for higher ratings. Probably similar ratings for the first hour of Wed.
I bet champagne bottles being popped all over Nine HQ this week. Yet to see Friday's ratings but Mon-Thurs they took out both top slots on all 3 key demos.
Big Brother Fri- 3 Cities 224k
Big Brother Fri- 2 Cities on Go 98k
Big Brother Fri- 2 Cities on Go 98k
So 322k total viewers. Hope the consolidate numbers see a significant rise.Big Brother Fri- 3 Cities 224k
Big Brother Fri- 2 Cities on Go 98k
I mean, it's expected to be low on a Friday -- but if it's too low in such a way that it means Nine think people will lose the 'narrative' they might scrap the show. Please no.
So in Syd+Bris (On Go!) BB got 98k
For comparison -- last week (Friday), the top rating show on multi channels got 97k in Sydney+Brisbane.

I've been seeing people from Sydney and Brisbane on Facebook saying that they didn't even know the show was on last night, so hopefully those ratings increase next week and Nine don't yank it off prematurely.
