2014 House...

'Old school, Miami cool!' Take a tour of the bright pink, brand new, Big Brother house and its golden birdcages, plastic flamingos, chandeliers and treehouse
By Penelope Kilby for Daily Mail Australia

Nestled among gum trees on the Gold Coast, the newly renovated Big Brother house resembles a palatial Miami mansion with a splash of Hollywood glamour.
Bigger, better and flasher than ever, the dazzling compound will house 16 fresh contestants on an estate with all the bells and whistles.
As housemates entered their new home, they would have been greeted by a grand staircase leading them to am eye-popping salmon building and a backyard complete with pink flamingos, a lavish pool, an obscure glass dome, deckchairs and a tree house.

Drawing inspiration from the Beverly Hills Hotel, the dining area is adorned with banana leaf wall paper and lush ferns.
Another seating station looking over the pool from behind glass windows will be the perfect spot for housemate-watching as the season heats up.
Flamingos aren't just be found out on the lawn. The pink, feathered friends also feature in some bold wallpaper lining the staircase from the foyer and lounge area.

Nice digs! Taking three months to design and four months to build, the 'Old school, Miami cool,' themed property is even more impressive on the inside

Splish, splash! Upstairs contestants will shower in a far racier set up than previous years
Upstairs contestants will shower in a far racier set up than previous years.
In the past, housemates have freshened up in a bathroom that featured a long galley-style system with plenty of room and shower heads.
This time the chosen 16 will have to share a confined circular stall made of marble-like material, with just four showers all up.
Unusual, graphic wallpaper of fish and birds adorn the walls while the shower is situated in the very centre of the large room.

What's that about? The most mysterious part of the compound however, is the leafy tree house in the backyard. The modern, wooden structure sits atop of flight of stairs

Lavish! Housemates can beautify themselves in a blue-themed powder room
Housemates are playing the game as teams of two, and the same goes for bedtime.
Two bedrooms, one pink-themed and the other blue, with four beds in each have been decorated with glitzy sequined pillows and vibrant, printed blankets to match.
To beautify themselves ahead of eviction nights and parties, Big Brother has generously given them a luxurious, blue powder room furnished with reflective draws and huge mirrors.

Living it up! The housemates could spend up to three months working on their tans poolside in the Big Brother house
The diary room can also be found upstairs, while the a brand new addition, the Power Room is downstairs.
The Power Room is where the chosen housemates of the week will retreat to flex their 'power'.

This has shown me more of the house than the actual show has! I wish they would do a steadycam tour of it. I don't understand why they don't want us to check out the main player of the show and what they spend the most money on!

I just realised that all those palm tress are still in the former showdown area...... I wonder why?

Oh and why the hell did that change the blue on DR chair, I liked the blue, without it it is way too much gold.

Sometimes I wonder whether the people calling the shots since its revival have actually watched Big Brother in the past. I mean, observe how the launch show is put together.

What gets me is that Channel 9 actually does produce edits on shows that are not half bad. The Voice and The Block are just two examples of reality shows by Channel 9 that are put together quite well in their context.

However, I am constantly dumbfounded by just how badly the pre-recorded Big Brother shows are when put to air, particularly all three of their Launch shows (2012-2014). All three have demonstrated extremely poor editing skills, choppy cuts and badly mixed audio.

I'm not sure if it's different editing companies or whatnot but I don't understand why it is that all of Channel 9's major reality shows actually look quite respectable in the way that they are quality produced, and yet they still make Big Brother look so cheap, animated and gimmicky in comparison to them.

It's so bloody frustrating. It has so much potential!

I think the context is everything though. I mean, Big Brother is vastly different to those two shows in the sense that the focus is literally on the people, and on their conversations and interactions, so the editing is much more crucial, and when it doesn't work or it's done badly, it really fucking shows. You can get away with editing the interactions of The Block contestants because the focus isn't necessarily on them; it's about the work they're doing, and everything else is built on top of it as a bonus.

I honestly don't think Channel 9 can handle complexity.

Perhaps also their editing teams can't handle the pressure of having to turn something out in a short amount of time. Their editing feels almost violently rushed. And with this being their third year, they really should have gotten the hang of it by now!

The houseplan I made has the rooms in the correct places, it's only the shape of the rooms that may be a bit incorrect, if you're that desperate. It's going to take a lot of effort to get an perfectly accurate one this year, unfortunately.

@matts bb Oh good. Just need a top-down floorplan now! The yard I get, but inside, well that is a different story (storey? badum tish ;)).

What is that room with the purpley carpet hanging off the left-side of bathroom (when looking towards the WCs/toilets)? Its not the dressing room, because that is behind the white door.
You are actually the best, can't wait to see it all but not sure what room you are talking about.

Pretty sure Marquisite is referring to this! I was wondering what it is too!
Anyone want to make assumptions? I'm guessing it's another power move room, or even maybe another parlour, like last year?

@brandonthud75 Bingo that's the room I've not seen before (outside of the 360 view).

It looks a bit like a make up room, but it also looks huge just to be for that purpose!

If it were another room, it'd look abit weird coming off the bathroom, don't you think?
By the way, there could still be other rooms we haven't seen yet. Like the sanctuary and possibly a nominations/eviction room?
