I'm almost wanting to send a complaint to the ACCC over a minor advertising annoyance.. but I can't be bothered ...
Those stupid "But wait, don't answer - we have a special deal for the viewers.... " adverts, I can't even remember the products they sell..
It's shortly followed by, "Completely free, you get 2 for the price of one... you just have to pay postage & handling costs for the 2nd unit"
Well, then, its not FREE is it. If I have to pay another charge to get the free item, then its not FREE...
Not that I'd buy the junk they're selling anyway...
I read somewhere years ago that these TV gimmick adverts where they sell you garbage like rowing machines or gym equipment, that type of TV selling... To make a profit after all the super expensive TV advertising - they have to be able to purchase the item for 1/7th of the cost that they are advertising to you to purchase... It was a document that was leaked from the company that they give to potential businesses that approach these advertising companies with a product they want to flog... They tell them that if we market it for $70 on the TV, you have to supply it to us for $10 each...
