I have a lot of friends who work in the creative arts (not only TV) and there's a common theme of needing to leave Australia to further your career because Australia is rigid, afraid of new things, and there's a huge talent drain away to the US and UK. Honestly, I see the effects of this in the current season of BBAU. They are likely doing their best but it's feeling derivative and the staff seem inexperienced.
The classic nonsense story that's been rolled out since the dawn of reality TV voting.
It seems across the board in that industry highly paid experienced peoples contracts are not being renewed in favour of less experienced less well paidRegarding the BBAU production crew seeming to be really young and at the start of their careers, here’s what I wrote on November 17 in the performance review thread. Certainly seems to fit the situation:

It will be interesting to see if anything changes other then the BB voice after Pete confirmed his departure to fans
What?
I stumbled across the source of this rumour:When and where did he confirm this?

On one hand, I feel like it's a bit weird for him to confirm this so early to random fans (and how would it even come up)I stumbled across the source of this rumour:

Lol - that's wild he was talking to them as himself and not Big Brother. Why tf would he share with active housemates in the diary room that he wants to retire? Breaking the fourth wall tenfold and another bullshit notch on the BB2025 totem pole.On one hand, I feel like it's a bit weird for him to confirm this so early to random fans (and how would it even come up)
On the other hand I did hear Emily mention multiple times on the stream that he said he wanted to retire, which I thought could have been a joke because she always said it in the context of "he's so sick of us".
I think he interacted with the fans who were hanging around (and made that casual comment to them) is what I interpreted from that Reddit thread.Lol - that's wild he was talking to them as himself and not Big Brother. It’s also plausible that he was never intended to be the voice this year, and agreed to fill the role in the interim as a temporary favour of sorts, due to whatever broke down between Leon and the company at such short notice. There could be numerous reasons why he wants out. Perhaps it wasn't the homecoming he wanted. Perhaps he didn't like the way the show had been changed. Who knows.
I do get the vibe that he genuinely kind of hated it tbhIt’s also plausible that he was never intended to be the voice this year, and agreed as a temporary “favour” of sorts, due to whatever broke down between Leon and the company at such short notice.
It was just so glaring on the live shows, like chalk and cheese compared to the old era. They used to be slick, polished live events, which you can tell were being produced by seasoned professionals. This new season's live shows were chaotic, with awkward silences and gaps where they seemed to have no idea which camera to cut to or what was going on at all. Whoever was directing Mel should be fired. What an embarrassing shitshow the lives were. IF YOU'RE READING THIS PLEASE CONSIDER A CHANGE OF CAREER IMMEDIATELY.Regarding the BBAU production crew seeming to be really young and at the start of their careers, here’s what I wrote on November 17 in the performance review thread. Fair enough. I was referring to Emily's comment supposedly heard on the stream.I think he interacted with the fans who were hanging around (and made that casual comment to them) is what I interpreted from that Reddit thread.
As someone who has been BANNED from starting threads at this website since 2013 approx.., ( which the Groucho Marx in me wears as a badge of honor " as i would not want to be part of any community that would allow the likes of me as a member " ) , you will see this message posted on various places in an effort for someone with more privileges than i to start a thread and get some feedback

We are all about mutual collaboration here at AG central , not the usual mutual masturbation @MADONNA 's gaff.
Who will take this on board,,,YOU DECIDE.....then be fucked over anyway by the MAN ....
INTEREEEESTTTING. I had the same issue. I pressed vote for Emily nearly 6 or 7 times and it wouldn’t go through. I finally went back and forwards and was finally able to get my vote in for her by trail and error, I really thought there was something wrong with the interface! So I can attest to this and others might not be as tech savvy as me…
He should be fired for having a personal chitchat with the players to be honest. What a shitshow.Lol - that's wild he was talking to them as himself and not Big Brother. Once they announced Bogano won, I turned it off. Not because I was upset at the result, because I didn't want to torture myself by watching her & her bogan family take over the stage. Finally managed to watch the entire episode from start to finish. I just tuned into the last quarter when I was putting my kiddo to bed and seemed to have caught most of the important action. I didn't care to watch the buildup as it's not like you're reading a book is it. And we all knew kind of how it was going to play out.
You might have been notified of my likes as I read through almost this entire thread and laughed and enjoyed what you all had to say. There's not much more that I can really add that people have already said. But I really did enjoy the community here - the OG's, the new folk, even the haters, me hating on the hates lol, the fan diary, the games, the various facets being discussed in a multitude of threads; freaking amazing, took me back. It created a 24 hour community and I so missed that. Wishing you all a great end of year break and come back soon bra!
I just wanted to have a final vent. We all know it was fucked that production didn't give Emily a time on the stage, and we will never forgive them for that! They'd better bring us an online special eviction interview in the coming weeks ffs.
The Production was chaos. The live shows are out of control. You could almost walk on that stage, pull your dick out, and do a helicopter and it would make it on air. No security to be seen! It's like being run by a bunch of interns and random kids who are considering a degree in marketing. Not very encouraging.
Coco's Mum and some other people in her family - cousins / uncle / father-in-law / second cousins twice removed just thought that they would walk on stage with their kids without a question. Are these people so freaking bogan that they couldn't give Coco some time on the stage with her 3 kids --- it was HER game, how dare they invite themselves like that, we were already running low on time and Mel struggles to reign this shit in? Mel was awkwardly prodding the kids and grinning like a cheshire cat. It would have been enough to let the 3 kids up on stage, but the whole extended family and who knows who else. That just pissed me off lol.
This chaos was lame. They need to get some control there and a consistent format, it should be hosted, not run by an unruly mob. Hopefully they will have a better budget next year and all these faults are being taken very seriously!
I can confirm the same as @BB101 I heard on the livestream that Big Brother said he was going to retire. The context I took it as was retire as big brother as in not doing the role again, not never working again career wise. I remember discussions about it when I commented I heard it as I was so excited that he wasnt going to be the voice again according to how I took itFair enough. I was referring to Emily's comment supposedly heard on the stream.
I hated how the housemate production pose clips (that are used looped on the stage screens for evictions/noms) were playing on their lounge screen in the house....wtf. It just blurs the lines too much and brings that production element into the house and to the conscious of the housemates. Like the exposed cameras do, like the studio lighting above/no ceiling. Were they instructed not to look up too much? Complete BS.
That’s another BBUK ITV thing, before that during C5 era it was a housemate portraits wall where they would light up blue who was nominated and then go red for evicted housemates, and every so often housemates would comment on who had gone and who they thought would be at the end, etc, but yeah I can see how having the moving versions constantly displayed on the BIG screen might be distracting a little from the immersion sometimes.Yeah i haven't seen it commented too much but having those constant screens with nominated and evicted on i wasn't much of a fan either.
If the visible cameras werent bad enough then things like those screens with all housemates on them would remind them theyre on TV. Hopefully both go as part of the fixes needed if BB is actually returning.
