Lol I met Drew last night. Well, kind of. He works at a bar in Melbourne that’s said to be quite popular. I got there like 30 minutes before they closed and he was one of the door bitches there and said “sorry guys we close at 3”. I was then like “omg you’re drew from BB” he smiled and said yes and then started to slowly walk away. He didn’t seem very interested in speaking about it. He could have just not wanted to speak to a random drunk fan lol. That’s the second housemate from 2013 I’ve randomly met in the city now that wasn’t interested in talking.

Anyone else think it’s rather embarrassing and cringe that they’re literally using the low-res 240p YouTube rips for clips of 2003? Could Seven genuinely not source the master archival footage? Nine owned it last so it’s safe to assume Seven now own it… right?

If they continue to use the YouTube versions in the actual episodes, you just know their care factor is = zero.

really cringe. CH10 bothered to use it for Reggie's appearances on studio ten so why couldn't seven bother to promote the actual series? It makes it look like she won BB 1993 not 2003...

It’s interesting because they obviously have the rights to the footage to broadcast it in the first place. Footage from Nine is shown in HD in the new promo (looks like a master), but most of the Ten footage is very clearly from YouTube.

This isn’t the time to be lazy…

Anyone who says they are still wholeheartedly looking forward to this are kidding themselves.

I don’t think the average punter cares about a low res 20yo clip. In fact in some ways it adds to the ‘nostalgia feel’ by making it feel like it was a long time ago. Maybe it’s even strategic.
I guarantee all of the younger fans who may be interested in a quick run through of these older housemates would see that poor quality clip and would not bother to watch it simply because of the quality.

Perhaps. I could argue that younger viewers probably aren’t the target audience to this promo. But anyway, who knows if they actually do have access to higher quality clips 🤷🏽‍♂️ just don’t think it’s a huge issue personally.

Eh, not like there’s any way for younger viewers to watch the older seasons in anything other than potato youtube quality anyway.

If anything, it’s a brilliant move by producers to prepare people for disappointment.

I would argue that the large amount of Ch9 housemates is yes probably circumstantial, but also a way of targeting younger audiences who came in during the 2012-2014 era. I don't think it's a big issue either, it just looks poor.
