Survivor Koah Rong: BrainsvBrawnvBeauty 2

Debbie is really well positioned if she can drag the two goat beauties through to the end. I think the macho men's egos would favour Cydney as her only female finale threat. 30 seasons in and starting with brains v brawn v beauty and it still descends into boys v girls :p

Cydney stepped up for the first time tonight, and I'm starting to like her. If she aligns with Debbie and Aubry then maybe things will get really interesting.
It's still a shame that Tai is under the spell of the charmless brawns. His comment about beating the brains struck the wrong note with me. Spilling the beans on the Super Idol... ooops.
Getting rid of Nick was a good move, but surely the brawn boofheads are the biggest threat, why not get rid of them whenever they don't have immunity.

I wonder why Tai wrote down Jason's name.

Tai was fantastic in the immunity challenge but he's starting to talk too much.

To Nick's credit he was a good sport about the blindside.

I was thinking maybe the girls told him about the vote, but they didn't trust him with the real info.

How often has it really stayed as boys vs girls, though? Micronesia, maybe One World. Even Vanuatu had some cooperation between the sexes. Which seasons do you mean? They always fear the mythical woman's alliance, but it rarely takes root.

One World is the one that springs to mind as female-dominated, with Kim Spradlin calling the shots and only keeping a few token males when it suited her.

I was more remarking that despite all the evolution and overthinking about strategies, there's one basic standby. To be fair, it's mainly because both Debbie and Cydney have a super chance to win this way (Aubry for basic survival), and yes, I would scramble using it in a heartbeat. Still amusing.

Great episode and epic tribal. Watch this one on catchup if you missed it.

Dang, Tai

Great episode. I don't particularly like the result, but at least more than one person is actually thinking this season.

I've totally gone off Tai. I had hoped for a change of strategy after his vote for Jason last week. Instead he just lied about it and stuck tight to what would have to be the most repulsive duo in Survivor history.

Did the alliance of three actually gain anything besides surviving another week? The girls were savvy enough not to waste votes on them, and flush out a couple of idols.

I think they were hamming up the idol janken to cover up the super idol talk/concept, that Tai and others were previously surprised people didn't know about. If the Cydney alliance don't know about it, the Scot alliance have at least one more safe week. If Sc/Ja/Tai win immunity, they have three idols so no one will vote for them. If they don't, they can the play super idol if necessary. If Julia is on board, long term, they are safe even longer.

I can only imagine Scott & Jason are playing the game simply for the fun of it. It seems unlikely that anyone else would ever vote for them to win should one of them make the final tribal council. Tai's conscience will kick in before then. There's a huge difference good but ruthless gameplay, and just being an asshole.
