It baffles me how the BBC kept it pretty secret until the day of broadcast yet then go and spoil it all by saying it'll be a shock episode and she'll be leaving. It's not a shock if you announce it in the hours beforehand!

...Hey Brekkie... haha!... it is strange how the BBC operate isn't it?... it makes me wonder if they did that so that Clara's death doesn't overshadow the final cliff-hanger that's coming up 2 shows away?... as I said above... whatever it is then it has to be better and bigger than Clara's death and I can't possibly fathom as to what that could be?... the only storylines that I can think of that would really be a gobsmacker is the reintroduction of Gallifrey or even The Doctor's long lost 'daughter' again... (I just hope it's not 'hello sweetie' again... I could handle Captain Jack but not her!)... anyhow... as I said in my previous post... interesting times ahead eh?... cheers

I guess the BBC marketing department are only interested in getting viewers, especially casual viewers, to watch the episode (especially after reports about the decline in ratings). I doubt production would be happy with the spoiler reveals.

What's worse, one of the BBC youtube trailers showed the last few moments of Clara saying goodbye to the doctor and saying "be brave" . I was thinking surely they wouldn't spoil the end of her character like that! :(

I agree, I was second-guessing all along thinking "surely they've made it too obvious that Clara is going to die before the finale", so I really hope there is more to come to properly resolve her storyline and give her some kind of happy ending.

is coming in the xmas special
but at this stage no one knows who the new companion will be. I'm presuming they won't be revealed this season and that it will be a start of new season introduction like Amy and Rory's. Unless it's a returning character, but I'd prefer someone new.

...^^^^... that spoiler Meglos... aw crap!... that'll be right lol!... cheers

WOW
And WTF
Anyway, I don't believe for a minute she is dead and gone forever, Moff doesn't know how to even do that, everyone comes back, everyone.
And she is IMPOSSIBLE.
And I kind of assumed being IMPOSSIBLE is why the Doctor could never use that immortality tab on Clara, she already has a form of immortality and the universe would explode with Claras.

There is still too much that is left unsettled about Clara, and too may mysteries in this episode.
digitalspy as usual have some interesting theories in the forum -

Someone points out a Oswald, Osgood thing - interesting.

I want Clara to come back and chop off Masie's head and burn her like a vampire death:)

I really liked this one. Clara died due to her misplaced belief that the doctor could get her out of any situation. It was a horrible and strangely anti-climatic way to go.

I have read people, not on this forum but in other places, suggesting that they would really like to see 12 go really mad. Be really angry and vengeful. While it is great to see an angry Capaldi, and we probably will see a very angry doctor next two episodes, I hope it won't be a permanent thing. Because if he does become bitter and angry than his speech at the end of 'The Zygon Inversion' will have all been for nothing. It would just be a hollow speech and make this doctor look like a hypocrite. It probably won't happen but I would like to see a scene where the doctor forgives Mayor Me for her part in Clara's death. Because that would be such an emotional moment, especially when contrasted at the end of this episode where if it wasn't for that transporter thing on his arm then the doctor probably would have destroyed the trap street in his grief.

...what a great post reepbot... and I so agree with everything that you said about Capaldi... it would be terrible if he stayed angry permanently... The Moff really has us all up in the air with just how The Doctor is going to handle Clara's death and in which direction that he is going to go now isn't he?... that's what makes this show so great in my opinion... cheers.

Spooky @Meglos, very spooky...and reminiscent of old classic DW, the Escher episodes were the first to suck me into Whoworld.
Before that I was only paying attention when Leela or K-9 appeared, and kid me found Tom to be an old bore with a scarf ( I do believe I could sense he was a prick to that actress).

Ah, look Moff's legacy is NOBODY DIES............

A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Doctor Who fan wants to know when her gran is coming back to life.

Nikki Hollis believes her recently deceased grandmother Joyce will either regenerate like a Time Lord or will turn out not to be dead after all because of some convoluted space thing.

Hollis said: “What I’ve learned from Doctor Who is that no one stays dead for very long, which is what I was explaining to all the sad people at the funeral before mummy told me to shut up.

“Even if she’s not a Time Lord she won’t have died. Most likely she’s in an alternative timeline or a bubble universe. Or she could have teleported somewhere like Clara does whenever she gets killed.

“Although mummy said it was cardiorespiratory failure, not Daleks.”

Hollis now believes her family should build a tardis and begin looking for Joyce in parallel universes instead of arguing about how much they will get from the sale of her house.

Mum Sarah Hollis said: “I’m going to have to find that old Peter Davison episode on YouTube and explain that gran has gone forever, like Adric.”

...hahaha!... I actually love Alex Kingston... I think that she is gorgeous in fact...I just can't stand River Song... to me... being that she is ahead of The Doctor's Timeline all the time she's always 'hinting' to him about 'this and that' as to what's going to happen... I find that to be such a big distraction to whatever storyline that she is in... if by some strange occurrence her Timeline finally got caught up to by The Doctor's Timeline and then they were both on an even keel then I would probably be able to tolerate River Song's less 'smug and knowing' character... but that's not going to happen and therefore we're going to get the 'spoilers' and 'hello sweeties hitting at us again aren't we?... I would much prefer Captain Jack to be in it rather than River Song any day lol!... cheers.

...haha!... that's a great article there kxk and I can understand as to why that kid thinks that lol!... cheers.

OH MHY GAWD!!! I only got to watch it last night. I knew Clara was going and wasn't that attached to her, but I bawled like a baby!!! I think it was because of the panic and not much time left at the end. Then the bit with her screaming, but we don't hear it. ;(

I still want to know what happened to that boy that Danny Pink "sent" to Clara ie the one he accidently shot & killed when he was a soldier. Did that ever get mentioned again?

And am I the only one that loves River Song?

I don't think we ever did find out.

Just you and me it seems :p

The main Doctor Who forum is full of people who hate almost every character, but especially Clara. I find it too exhausting, I'd rather keep to the less obsessive chat in here.
