Schoolies scares me only for the fact my son will be that age in 4 years. Noooooo. Lock him in his room lol[DOUBLEPOST=1416834780][/DOUBLEPOST]
Lol aww x
My youngest is heading off to Schoolies this Friday (not staying on the strip - they have rented a house a bit further out, near where his father lives). My older 2 also went, both on organised Schoolies trips. I stressed with daughter # 1, but was calm for daughter # 2. The GC is tame compared to Schoolies OS. Daughter # 2's best friend (a boy) chose to go to a Fijian Island with a bunch of guys instead of the GC with the rest of the group. As he has me as a FB friend I saw all his pics, and the ones he was tagged in (when he got home he begged me not to tell his mother what he had been up to!). He was still 17, but that seems to not be an issue there with alcohol. The kids are stuck on an island, with a bar tab, and nothing to do but drink all day and night, swim, sunbake, and get into each others pants.

YES! When I was a kid we used to go there a lot as an Aunt lived there. The vibe of the place was very chill.[DOUBLEPOST=1416874448][/DOUBLEPOST]

Tully will be leading the over 18s in the race to the bar, while Jade will be mustering the non-drinkers. Wonder what Josh will be doing
The Central Coast needs it's own thread. It comes up here an unusual amount lol!

I hope he has a good time.

It's just scary because of all the group pressure to try things. I can sort of see why parents buy alcohol for them so they know what they're doing etc, but at the same time it's only through experience that you kind of know your limit and they don't tend to have that at that age. It's not even the getting drunk thing, it's others preying on them with any old type of pill etc that they wouldn't even know. At that age I thought my mother was overreacting to everything, now I understand haha.
Come stay!! LolI've never actually stayed on the Central Coast - you all are making me want to lol

That's why I was worried with my oldest - but it so regulated and strict now for those that book through Schoolies sites, that it is not much different from house parties at home. If you want to get feral domesticly now, Byron is where to head.
Come stay!! Lol
Next year I'll definitely be looking into it.
We're heading north instead to Hervey Bay for a week in exactly 2 weeks and 2 days and I can't wait!! lol. 3 hour drive with 2 dogs in the car should be interesting..

Thanks - so do I. I'm more worried about the fact that they are driving, rather than flying, than by what they will get up to!

Understandable. Are they driving from the south or coming from north?

I'm hoping that by the time he gets to that age I'll stop being so concerned about that type of thing. At 13 he's just at the age where he and I have different views of how grown up he is. I shouldn't worry about stuff until it's time lol

Driving up from Sydney - 2 P-platers, each with a car load.

It does! It seems everyone has some kind of connection to it. Two of my grandparents lived at Umina Beach. That's actually the one I was remembering was difficult to get into. Not Terrigal haha.

My grandparents lived there, and we often spent the time there (Ettalong). In my late teens my friends and I would head up to Avoca Beach most weekends in preference to Sydney - because the boys thought the surf was better there.
Many, many memories of the Central Coast
