I thought there might be a power outage somewhere, because of storms. I had power, but no BBB forums.
 
There wasn't that many people online at the time, if I recall correctly. I assumed it was because of storms.

It wasn't just a slowdown, if I'm to take the meaning of "a slowdown" meaning the forum just slows down a bit. The entire site went offline. It happened once fairly briefly, and then it fixed itself, and then it happened again a short time later and was offline for a while— I don't know how long for though, because I stopped checking, but I checked for maybe twenty or so minutes I'd say.

According to the offline page, something was having trouble connecting to something else. :p

Maybe the server was affected by the storms? The site was down several times last night at one point for an hour+ and I'm in Melbourne so no weather issues over here. The error message I kept getting was something to do with my computer to CloudFlare in Sydney was ok but CloudFlare to the BB site wasn't operating.

I was up waiting for a work call from the US so I had nothing else to do but keep checking back sporadically and even when it'd come back on, it'd sometimes last a few minutes and then go off for a good chunk of time again.

It's not a glitch, it's the server backing up the entire forums nightly so we don't lose any data if it happens to be hacked.

Never forget the great forum crash of ..... 08? 12? We've had a couple of them.

It wasnt just a slowdown for me, I'm in Qld and at about midnight, which would be 1 a.m. in some of the Southern States, I think I was getting Error 522 from memory and there were a bunch of letters and numbers to the right of it. I tried several times and got the same error code. I managed to connect to BBB at about 1 50 a.m. Qld time, which is obviously 2 50 a.m. Southern States time, but it went off again 10 minutes later, so I gave up.

Yes I remember the previous crash/crashes because of the overloading, thats what I thought might have happened this time, that everyone was keen to see what the other people thought of the programme.

All in all, I thought it was one of the better episodes this year, because the fake evictee being Travis was a good one and that Sam was the evictee, which was pretty predictable, since he showed his nasty side on day 2 towards Priya and Katie regarding the money. Its just that sense of entitlement that I didnt like, it was after all, part of the game and part of the prize money, but he didnt know that then, or he might have really gone off :-).

Yes, thats exactly the same as I was getting, my end was OK green tick, the cloud thing had a green tick, but the BBB server on the right had a red cross and some error message, possibly 522?

@BB Daze @bleachy_dude @Tim There was server maintenance late last night/early morning (it was scheduled) which took offline even some other sites which I know have the same host.
 
Ah ok. I didn't even know about maintenance on my own site. Whoopsie. Thankfully I have a 2IC @marquisite

Anyway back on the topic of ratings.

I'm not sure where everyone sources their figures from but can some one please provide the figures for Goldeneye on Friday night. Now that it's replaced Big Brother I'm curious to see what numbers it draws in.

Golden Eye would follow on well from a light episode of BB. I don't know why they could not squeeze one half hour in. And no reason from ch9 or BB whatsoever.

The no explanation is what drives me nuts. Foxtel's showing next Wednesday's show to be 2 hours - 8:40-10:40. Is that extra 30 minutes to make up for no Friday show? Why did the ticketing for what was billed as a "live eviction show" on Wednesday get pulled down today yet on Jump-In the voting terms still indicate it's a double with an eviction on Tuesday and Wednesday.

They horsed around so much last year with adding and dropping shows, changing run times, etc and now they seem to be doing it again and leaving us in the dark. I shouldn't have to call Ch 9 to confirm Goldeneye will be on instead of BB this Friday. It should've been on their own damn yourtv website if nowhere else.
 
I don't follow what nine is doing with all the Bond films.

First it was Sunday night, then Saturday night, now Friday night. Are they experimenting? Here's a thought, NINE - they belong on GEM. :rolleyes:
