David Appreciation Thread

Hi all, David's other sister here! I just want to clarify that when around the pool discussing his ideal female after stating he would have lisa's physique and then Cat's legs he was then questioned on what parts of Lisa's physique he liked and he stated midriff and arms. At no point did he ever state he would have Lisa's boobs!

And just for the record - I am with everyone on the shaving the beard off at some point and I am not really a fan of it myself, I def think he would have an easier time in the house without it as he is a good looking guy underneath all that hair. However, he is my brother so I will support him whatever facial hair he is sporting!

Hi, thanks for the support. Had to join after my sister told me about the dirt on david forum but sadly they have closed that before I got to have my say (possibly lucky for them!) :)
Have to say not very happy with BB to not give david air time all week and we never heard any go his stories when the housemates shared and then he makes one comment and it gets blown out of context and they focus half a show on it! Very naughty editing crew of BB!!!!

Exactly! Unfortunately, I think it is human nature to do what the boys were doing, and the girls will do exactly the same thing about the boys! The boys just got caught!

I think Lisa was most upset about 1: her tits being referred to as saggy
2: none of the other boys saying anything to back her up

I DONT think the issue was David saying her boobs were gorgeous at the pool (then saying the opposite to the boys) because he simply did not say that, he cleary said her midriff. Either way, Lisa couldnt give a crap about that, it would be the above 2 points that made her cry, even though she is making out like its the fact David said something to her face and then told the boys the opposite (which wasnt the case anyways).

Look I'm no fan of the guy but you seriously don't think women discuss guys in shallow terms as well? lol :D :rolleyes:

From what I've overheard on several occasions I've unfortunately eavesdropped on a gaggle of loud 'bitchy' women (they tend to be quite forthright whilst in a group and don't hold back) they are by far more ruthless in their assessment of guys and I'm not talking just about physical attributes but whole generalizations on their worth as a person (job, earning power etc..) and character (geek, dweeb, bogan, etc.).

Considering one that the biggest demographics of this forum are straight females (besides gay males), it doesn't come as shock to me that there's been a huge overreaction as to what is essentially pretty stock standard hetero male group topic discussion.

Hate to break it to the female posters in here but 99% of the men in your life have undoubtedly uttered similar things about women that Dave did. I guess his biggest crime is being an unattractive straight guy so there's that extra salt into the wound that it's coming from the mouth of someone not that highly rated as your post bluntly implies.
 
Wow he came off terrible on tonight's episode. Only sorry because Lisa got offended. That is the only issue he sees here. He was acting as if Lisa wronged him.

Then pulling out the excuses, 'boys will be boys' as if that justifies or excuses anything. It's the excuse guys use when they know they have no defense. An excuse which degrades all guys.

Oh he's not fitting in, 'it's everyone elses fault for being young.'

I didn't mind him before, but he is not a good person.

You are a bigger person than I am. I've often talked about girls physical attributes in a male group environment and so have pretty much all the other guys.

As far as I'm concerned it's normal (male and female) human behaviour and I have to doubt the sincerity and honesty of anyone who claims otherwise.

I'm pretty perfect though... haha totally not.. but..

Honestly, I don't think I have talked like that since high school. People might say the odd thing here and there, but never in a degrading way. Especially when you're in such a group situation.

I'll use for example the closest thing I can say to the BB experience. I have done a few group tours, guys and girls. Conversations may stray onto who people think is the hottest. They never really stray into criticizing peoples bodies and stuff. It's just known not to be said if people think it.

One thing as you get older, you learn not to be so judgmental. No one is perfect. Secondly even if you have certain standards, everyone is dating, in love with or whatever with people off all sorts of body sizes and types. So people kind of know not to be judgmental or critical about people with these things.

It depends on what type of people you mingle with I suppose. If you hang around blue collar workers (i.e tradies) you'll soon realise that the 'high school' tone of conversations you've described never really goes away irrespective of how old they get. ;) :D

I swear to you that never once in my life have I sat with a group of guys to judge our female friends and other females, or sat with a group of women to judge our male friends and other males.
 
Boys will be boys and girls will be girls is the most fucked up heteronormative cop out ever.

I've never once sat in a group of friends, of any gender, and judged other people's appearances like that. Never.
