...I'm so glad that you watched it... if anyone values Robin Williams's talent they really should watch it... he was good in 'Dead Poet's Society' and 'Good Will Hunting' etc (and many others of course)... but it's the downplaying of his emotions that really got me in this movie... it sort of shows me the dark inner workings of his soul in this role... especially considering the circumstances of his unfortunate death... I really do think that we see the true private thoughts within him...

...it wasn't a massive box-office success but when some actors are so rich they can afford to do some off-beat scripts and roles that really appeal to them because they just love the story and want to see it on the screen and they don't care if it is Oscar winning material or not... (Johnny Depp fits in off-beat movies between his box-office mega hits too... hence the reason that I like him so much too)... that's why actors like Robin do those movies... this was one of those movies and to me personally... my favourite of all of his great works...

...he will be sorely missed by me but every time that he is I just play 'What Dreams May Come' and I feel good again... as a matter of fact... when I'm sometimes having a quiet moment or am not overly happy for some reason like when I'm sick I'll put this movie on because I love the story so much... it enlightens me and makes me feel better and also appreciate people around me more...

I still can't get my head around Robin Williams not being here anymore. I haven't been able to watch any movies and the other night at the drive in (where I work) they played the preview for the new Night at the Museum movie and it was so incredibly sad to see and hear him on the screen.
He and Rik Mayall are two comedians I adored and it's so incredibly sad that there talents will no longer be shared with the world.

...yeah it is so sad molloch......what with Robin and Rik Mayall both having left us it really is hard for me to take at the moment... I liked anything that Rik did too... thank God Billy Connolly is still here to entertain me...

...as I've stated before in here... I had the utmost pleasure in managing to see both Robin Williams and Billy Connolly live when they both toured Sydney last year... I'm so happy that I made it to the both of them... I really am!...

...speaking of the two of them... Billy and Robin were really great mates and Robin used to go and stay at Billy's Castle whenever he was in Scotland in the UK... here below on the link is a great article to read about it all... imagine them two together?... (pandemonium comes to mind lol!)... as a matter of fact... what they both got up to on Loch Ness must've been some wild moments... just read the article and you'll see what happened!... lol!... cheers.

It was about the third time for me, but the first I properly remember so probably at least partly why I still recall it so fondly. Most of the sequels are rubbish, but that first one is so good!

Not the first time I wen to the cinema but it was a perfect excuse for teachers to take a bunch of school kids on a day out to the cinemas. An awesome time was had. :thumbsup:

Memorable moment was when a T Rex had the guy taking a dump in the portable loo for dessert, girls were shrieking but the boys were laughing their arses off! :D

Try doing that today in School and you'd gave half the parents lodging complaints for stress and abuse...

Don't they take school kids to the movies nowadays? What a shame if that's the case.

That said my first movie trip to the cinemas as a school 'excursion' lol was to see 'The Witches' and I'll admit that movie did 'traumatise' me somewhat at the time. :hilarious:

My mum even went as far as to complain about it to my primary school which I was embarrassed about. One of the people from school suggested defensively that it was due to perhaps family issues at home and not from anything I saw in the movie. Not cool. :thumbsdown: You can probably guess that my parents were none too impressed about getting backchat from some stranger. *smh*

Haha yes I remember watching The Witches when I was in like Year 2 or 3 after reading the book. It was quite full on for such a young age.

I loved the witches, I wish I saw this movie during school, sadly it wasn't the case, but we did watch Matilda, that was the hype when I was in primary. Instead everyone thought I was a freak because I honest to god believed after reading the book that witches existed and of course and my imagination ran with it and I would relay the info to some of my friends... In my defense I was 9 or 10 and I was known to day dream way too often.

I read a lot of Roald Dahl books in primary school and watched a few film adaptations too. I loved Matilda, The Witches and both Chocolate Factory films. Sigh, I miss those days.

Me too!
I also loved reading James and the Giant Peach, The Twits and The Gremlins.

James and the giant peach is the other movie I enjoyed too :)
