Yes, but I know that at the end of the day Alex has the original concept of BB at heart and I can sorta tell that he tries to give us as much of that as he can. I don't think he'd ever stoop as low as what BBUK have tbh.

...yeah I like to think that he won't too... but there's talk that Channel 9 is at the end of it's 3 year contract after this season and will have to renegotiate it... but if it doesn't rate too well for them then I'm a tad bit worried that Alex might succumb to temptation and try to 'spice it up' a bit to cause drama and conflict as has happened in BBUK to keep the ratings up...

I might have forgotten previous incidents but I think it was only last year that they started the overt interference with information from the outside being given to HMs, with tweets from outside, and the least to most task, which had one girl in the toilets bawling her eyes out for being labelled most unhygienic (and something else mean that I forget). They clearly want to hurt people, they could say untidy or messy, but calling someone unhygienic, which they did again this year, is just cruel. As were other labels, and the focus group, and the letters from home ... the list goes on.
This season they have gone overboard, it is no longer Big Brother, all of the basic principles have been completely destroyed. Such a shame because I have loved the UK version til now. I don't even see how they can go on, no one in future houses can ever trust anything about BB now so who is going to say anything interesting to each other or in the DR when they know that it might be played back to the other HMs. They've trashed their own brand.
Which makes me think ... is this the last year they are doing it so they don't have to worry about trashing their brand? Maybe they want to go out with a bang.

The only thing that might save us is that our show doesn't want significant bullying. Sure we've had our issues, but while it is in that early timeslot, it needs to stay family friendly, so some of the cruel stuff that the UK does, e.g. trying to unsettle HMs and cause conflict, would be howled down by a lot of our viewers. I hope.
...wasn't there talk that Channel 4 want to buy it back from Channel 5 after they got it from them?... if that is so perhaps they're doing this as a suicide mission so that when they give it back to them it doesn't out-rate them?... hmmmm!... that sounds a bit silly when I think about it doesn't it?... I'm such a cynical mongrel sometimes I really am... cheers.
...it's a double edged sword really isn't it?... as you say... while it is in that time-slot there's not a lot of chances for it to get out of hand so much but on the other flip of the coin I think that it should go to a later time-slot to stop it being such a wishy washy sugar coated love fest... just my opinion though lol!... cheers.

Some of the accents are a bit thick for me sometimes, so while I catch most of it, there's definitely a few things that slip past me too.
As I've said previously, I wish BBAU would rattle their cages a little at least, by doing BBUK-style team vs. team challenges and rewarding the winning team with a party, every so often. It would give them a change to break up the cliques that form and force them to interact with people that they were otherwise not so close to.
So causing conflict in this manner I think is fine, but I know what you're saying about the 'cruel' stuff, they are laying a lot of mindfucks on them with the outside info, etc.
I never understood why BBAU stuck with exactly the same format for the rewards room year in year out, with it always being a winner and guest gaining entry. They could vary it up a bit - when BBUK had a rewards room back in 2003 it was different every week - usually half the house would win entry but sometimes it was just a couple of people, other times it was all but one HM (I'd have loved to be the losing HM that week and have the house to yourself for a couple of hours!). It varied from being a night club, games room, Irish pub, hotel suite, portal to BB Africa and one week just contained a new HM.

...if I was a celebrity I would take the £300,000 and would make life so unbearable for everyone so that they'd all vote me out within the first week... not bad money for sitting on your arse and bitching about people for a week!... lol!... cheers.

just finished watching Bit on the Psych ... that Ian Lee really aggravates me - what a tosser!
was interesting to see the 'profiles' and who matched up ...
they keep up with mentioning the creepy Chris thing- THEY are perpetuating it even though all the HMs have said it is total BS ... and most importantly of all Ashleigh has said its BS. She's a strong enough young woman that if Chris was in any way worrying her she'd steer clear of him after tearing him a new one first! so they (the BOTS crews) keep pushing this tired line up one side and down the other because obviously there's an agenda for Chris NOT to still be in the house at the end . THEY don't want a socially awkward winner.
Whilst I don't think I could cope living with Mark I love to watch his tantys - the screaming, the funny accent, the stupid comments ... they almost without fail have me laughing.
Zoe still wants it to be known that BB didn't show the right clip - the one showing her as Queen BB not the one when she said something that will follow her around for the rest of her days. She may have been known as Zoe Whoever from Pop Idol but now she's Tesco's Favourite Leading Lady Zoe Whoever From What Was That Show????
