THE COUCH - TV Chat Thread

Haha. I wish. I seriously wish.
Seriously.

Channel 10 appealed to me so much growing up. I pretty much only watched 10. Starting with Cheez TV and then as I grew ...
Big Brother (with Up late), Australian Idol, Rove Live, The Panel, Sandra Sully reading the late news, and the list goes on.

I don't know why but it pains my heart to see the current (and previous) management run the station into the ground with seemingly no vision. I fear the day that Australia no longer has 3 commercial networks.

Jam BD was talking about 10 forums - ie 10's board, I used to hang out there a bit too.

And I too @bleachy have fondness for 10, growing up they were the only station along with ABC to cater to teens really, music & stuff was on 10.
My buddies and I used to stalk pop stars at 10.
13 year olds, we would go to the studios at Nunawading, and hang about in the canteen, watching pop people we thought were cute/cool.
They never threw us out:)
We were very well behaved & quiet - and would not approach or touch anyone. Just a couple of times we lurked outside for someone special:)

Stations have personalities, 10 always seemed more local and more tongue in cheek, they didn't take themselves are seriously as others, 10 feels like a teenager.
9 is a fat old corporate bastard, that will stoop to anything even eat itself for a rating.
7 was dagggy, footy central - and they rebooted to become the new 10, and flew.

10 should do a huge reboot, and stop focusing on 9 and 7, take a look at SBS & ABC, and then make a whole different kind of beast - make it the techie, fresh, new place.

Poor 10 was a youth station that got lost in the tech revolution, their young audience was fell away because they don't watch TV. And now - they don't know who they are, they have no identity.

I just saw an ad on Ten and Grant Denyer will be appearing on the project tonight to address "Those Rumours"... Hmm.... Interesting I wonder what he will say.

I also loved Ten growing up - I remember when they had Big Brother and Australian Idol, and don't judge, I am a lifelong Neighbours fan - I love when the little chicks leave their nest and find their Hollywood fame, it supports genuine Australian talent as opposed to the "pretty" folks on H&A. As for Family Feud, I loved the Aussie version, Rob Brough is a legend, and he has hosted the 6pm News in Regional Queensland for probably at least 10 years:

@Consuela OMG I'M A FUCKING GENIUS!!!!

Wow just watched the episode and I have so many thoughts and questions going through my head. where do I start? ummm....

So Simon was being experimented on by Dr. Victor Halperin, who seemed very sympathetic towards the undead even calling them a superior species. So I'm assuming that Simon had already received the treatment in the flashbacks because he was talking, so the good Dr must of been looking for a way to 100% cure the undead or bring the undead back to life. I wonder what happened to the Dr? Because when Simon was being released from the treatment centre we only saw the other Dr (who's name I cannot remember). I think Dr Victor is the undead profit because at the start of the season we see Amy taking the homemade medicine which we assume has come from the ULA and tonight we see Amy being able to feel again (side note if the undead can not feel what was the point of Amy having sex with Phillip in the previous episode?). I'm thinking that the homemade medicine is what has caused Amy to be able to feel again.

When Maxine was being shown who is the first risen by the B&B owner I'm wondering why we the audience did not see who she pointed to? I'm thinking Kieren might not be the first risen. Thoughts?[DOUBLEPOST=1401721659][/DOUBLEPOST]@Consuela OMG I'M A FUCKING GENIUS!!!!

Total fucking genius! I also totally agree with you on Dr. V being the undead prophet - way back when the undead prophet spoke to Simon it was the good doctor at the controls and the cure was only new and I believe only Simon and the other dude had responded to it therefore it makes sense the prophet can't be a PDS sufferer. As for why we didn't see the B&B owners pick that's because...

AMY IS COMING ALIVE BECAUSE SHE IS THE FIRST RISEN!!1!!!@#@#$%@#

When B&B chick was pointing to the picture she goes towards the chick two photos down from Amy's who just happens to be the girl that Philip was paying to dress up like Amy. That's why Maxine was all are you sure cos they look so similar!

So is Amy coming alive because of the medicine or because she is the first risen? And it seems next week we are going to have Maxine going after Amy and Simon going after Kieren. I fear Amy will be killed.

To be honest I don't know. The whole first risen storyline makes me think that will be the reason plus we've never really known why they rose in the first place. Could be that the virus or what ever has had its incubation period and is now bringing them back.

And yep Maxine after Amy and Simon after Kieran. I really hope Amy doesn't die but Maxine is stabbing someone. I also hope Simon doesn't go through with it poor Kieran needs a good relationship for a change.

I didn't really know where to post this, but I am a huge 30 Rock fan. I hope Tracey comes through ok:

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2014/06/08/07/38/comic-tracy-morgan-critically-hurt

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan has been critically injured after a tractor-trailer rammed into his chauffeured limousine bus, setting off a chain-reaction crash that left one member of his entourage dead and two others seriously hurt.

A truck driver from Georgia was charged with death by auto in connection to the crash, prosecutors said.

Middlesex County prosecutors said 35-year-old Kevin Roper also faces four counts of assault by auto. His bail was set at $US50,000 ($A54,100), and he was expected to turn himself in later on Saturday.

Morgan, the former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock cast member, was returning from a stand-up comedy show in Delaware when his Mercedes limo bus carrying seven people overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike near Cranbury Township at about 1am on Saturday, state police Sergeant 1st Class Greg Williams said.

James McNair, 62, of Peekskill, New York, a passenger in the limo bus, died at the scene, Williams said. Morgan, 45, and Jeffrey Millea, 36, of Shelton, Connecticut, were flown from the accident scene to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where they were in critical condition, hospital spokesman Peter Haigney said.

A fourth passenger, comedian Ardie Fuqua Junior, was also in critical condition, while a fifth passenger, comic Harris Stanton, was treated and released, Haigney said.

Two others in the limo were unhurt, including the driver.

Morgan remains in the intensive care unit at the hospital.

"His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care," spokesman Lewis Kay said in a statement.

"We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available."

Williams said the tractor-trailer driver apparently failed to notice slow traffic ahead and swerved at the last minute in a vain attempt to avoid a crash.

But it smashed into the back of the limo, prompting a chain-reaction crash with a second tractor-trailer, an SUV and two cars.

Morgan performed comedy standup on Friday night at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. His appearance at the Fillmore Charlotte in North Carolina on Saturday night was cancelled.

Morgan, a New York City native, joined SNL in 1996 and was on the sketch-comedy program for seven years before leaving to star in The Tracy Morgan Show in 2003. That show lasted just one season.

In 2006, Morgan found a long-running role on NBC's hit show 30 Rock and received an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor for 30 Rock in 2009.

Morgan grew up fatherless, one of five siblings in Brooklyn, where he helped raise and support the family.

He once called his gift for being funny "a defence mechanism" for his miserable circumstances. As a teen, he started doing comedy on the streets to supplement the family's welfare income.

In recent years, he has struggled with alcoholism and drunken driving arrests. He had a successful kidney transplant in late 2010.

Morgan has three grown sons by a previous marriage and a daughter, Maven Sonae, born last July to his fiancee, Megan Wollover.

His films include Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Longest Yard, First Sunday, Rio and Why Stop Now.

WHHHHHHHYYYYYYYY! She can't be gone, I won't believe it.. she deserved a real second life. :bawling::drowning:

So many questions for next season so they better do one! Was she really the first risen? Is Kieran coming alive too?

And no I hadn't heard of Utopia but after a quick google I'm adding it to my binge list.

Yes Utpoia is amazing, HBO is making a US version, not sure if I'll watch it though.

I LOVE Would I Lie To You? Often in laughing so hard I'm in stitches on that show. Even though I have no idea who the people are.
