What's for dinner?

Nothing special for tea here tonight, but I've got a pot of chicken stock simmering away on the stove. This is my first time doing it in a pressure cooker, fingers crossed it's as good as everyone says it is.

I cannot hope to guess who thought this recipe up but omg!... what a clever idea for Valentines Day for a bit of a laugh?... even though there's all that fat and rind in it I'd gobble them up faster than anyone could blink!... lolol!... the recipe for it is on this link below...cheers.

lol @ bacon roses :) Everything is better with bacon :)

Tonight I made pizza...from the takeaway shop on the way home from work. :)

Sometimes, you just have to have pizza and the urge cannot be denied.

I know this is a dinner thread (probably need a food thread in general), but everyday I've been having the same snack. Sweet yoghurt with blueberries and kiwi fruit topped with crushed almonds, macadamia and walnuts, with drizzled honey. Yummy!

That sounds amazing. You are my new food inspiration. I don't have all those ingredients that you mentioned above, but I have some and or something similar. I am already planning a nice afternoon snack for tomorrow using what you made as an inspiration.

Wow, those are amazing. If anyone here feels like buying me flowers for some reason, please make them made of bacon.

I should let you know that I have a blueberry tree lol. Also I just get whatever nuts I have in my cupboard and crush them myself. It just happens to be that I love almonds so stock up on then often and walnuts are a great way to make a good paste. Macadamia is a new thing for me... But heard they were god for you so decided to give them a try. I think any raw nuts are good for yu though- just proportion is the main key I guess.

Anything similar like this is great. Keeps my sweet tooth at bay and fills me up too. The nuts always leave me feeling thirsty so I end up drinking a lot too :) lol

I've got some strawberries in the fridge so they will do. I actually cleaned out my pantry today and found a few things I forgot I had in there, like nuts and dried fruits. Tomorrow I'm am making Tandoori chicken so I'll be using the left over yogurt from that.

Mmmm yum! I haven't had tandoori chicken in a while. I might make that for dinner tomorrow night too. Although I already had Moroccan chicken tonight lol. Maybe another night this week.

Bad day today. My dinner tonight was 3 cans of coke zero, a zooper dooper and half a packet of crisps. Thesis wins.

LMFAO.... So how is the healthy diet going?

Haha, not too well I have to say! This week has been a shocker so far, although I have eaten salad twice which is pretty good for me. My sister is doing another one of her stupid cleanses next week and is trying to persuade me to join her, but I don't think I can manage that much. It seems a big leap to go from Hungry Jacks to a juice cleanse, I think I need baby steps!

Agreed.

Once upon a time I was very much like you, I would get all the wrong things but I slowly made changes. You can't just jump in head first when you are making change like this in your life it takes time.
Your sister sound a lot more extreme in her diet than I am with mine. If someone were forcing me to go on some crazy juice cleanse I would not do it just in protest of them trying to force me to do it.

Yeah, she is pretty extreme. She isn't usually to bad with it insofar as respecting other peoples choices, but I guess I am at the other extreme and the few times she does try to intervene it comes from a good place at least.

My mum is making a meal plan for me, but I haven't committed to sticking to it just yet. She is still working on it, she is trying to make it suitable to my tastes which I suspect is hard.

I think you just need to add a little bit of something healthy each day to your diet, small steps like you said. That could be like having pancakes but with fresh strawberries instead of ice cream. Or leave the ice cream but take away the syrup. It's still things you love to eat but with something that your body will benefit from
