Oh, celery. I didn't even mention celery because I prefer to pretend it doesn't exist. I agree--it's pretty questionable that it was ever meant to be eaten.

These clowns better do something fun tonight for us to talk about. We're on vegetables, people. Vegetables.
I don't even know you anymore. I love celery :)

I know! Get on it HMs! Look what you've reduced us too. Talking about foul vegetables and vile herbs.

Oh my gosh you're in my head! Totally on board with the capsicum aversion (unless it's disguised in a sauce). I pick it out of stir-frys and have only in the last year stopped picking it off pizza lol

I can do it on pizza now, and I've very recently stopped picking it out of stir-frys, unless there is too much of it or it's not cooked enough, then it's gonesies. I don't mind it in sauces, and love it in spag bol and other pasta sauces as long as it's not in chunks and is slow cooked. HATE HATE HATE it baked into things like pasta bakes, casseroles, tuna mornay or pies. Also dislike it in soup.

One vegetable I love that surprises most people is brussel sprouts. In fact even I'm surprised I like them, it's another one that is apparently genetic.

Does Nick get all the freebies Ed does? Sometimes I forget he wasn't even on Big Brother..

Edit: Also you guys are crazy, capsicum is awesome, ESPECIALLY raw. I chop it up and eat it like apple.

I can eat it, but if you overcook it it smells like a fart.
LOL!!!
HAHA couldn't have said it better myself. I can only eat Brocolli (and Cauli!) Raw. For this exact reason. My friends/bf/family say I'm insane... Pffft.
I eat almost every vegetable raw.
I'm a very naughty chick I hate fruit and vegetable so I just eat it like a snack when I'm really hungry, particularly brocoli and caspicum.
Lots of brocoli in your diet is good for your abs!
So sorry to interrupt your food discussions but several more people have tweeted about Drew and Tully being at Dance/Blitz Nightclub tonight and apparently Jasmin and Caleb might be there as well.
I'm sure being the fame trollop he is he'll post 20023 photos and promote several products:rolleyes:
Pretty much any vegetable is delicious roasted in the oven with a little bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic if desired. Except for cauliflower. There's nothing to be done about cauliflower.
Hahaha unless it's smoothered in cheese and butter.
I used to agree, but I love it now. The only vegetable there can be nothing done about in my book is Celery. It's debatable as to if it's even a legitimate foodstuff. I'm pretty picky about my capsicum too, hate it raw, love it cooked in some things, can't stand it in others.
It's the texture yeah? Celery doesn't taste enough like anything to be offensive does it??

They smell like old socks!

Eww.. sounds like my husband. I have to buy it because he loves it and I'm just about gagging as I slice it and smell the capsi-fumes haha

broccoli with bechamel sauce is yum. Lots and lots of bechamel. And i love brussels.
Confession time: I have never ever eaten a brussell sprout. The smell turns me off big time. I like broccoli with béchamel too, but squeezing lemon juice is easier :)

We can be friends again! I have only ever eaten Brussels sprouts to be polite. I would never cook them for myself because of the smell.

yeah bechamel makes everything better.

brussell sprouts are like little baby cabbages. I like to boil them first till they are softish then throw them in a pan with olive oil and cook the bejesus out of them so the outside leaves get all burnt and crunchy and are falling off into the pan, then add sea salt and lemon just before serving. The crunchy burnt bits are to die for. I can't remember if i sometimes add a bit of garlic too but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
