Tahan grew up in one of the largest indigenous families in Darwin. She's been blessed to have an upbringing where she's surrounded by a large extended family who shares her bloodline and her heritage. That's something Mikkayla has not had in her upbringing. Tahan has no doubt experienced racism, but she will never understand how it feels to be 'othered' even when looking around at your own family. It's a shame Tahan isn't more perceptive and can't appreciate why Mikkayla is struggling with this. That's one of Tahan's biggest flaws, and it's actually something she shares with Tully. They both think that if someone don't respond to something the way they do, there's something wrong with that person or they're wrong for their thoughts/reactions. Tahan isn't able to look at this situation and understand why Mikkayla might feel the way she does. Tahan's mind just goes: "This person feel this way, and I do not. Therefore this person is wrong/stupid/horrible/racist/oversensitive/etc etc."

there hasnt been any racism so far in the series so can we please not try to make it seem like there has been any, or any here in these threads, remember its 2013 and we've MOVED ON if not EVOLVED!

I'd say there are countless people, all over the world of all different races who have often wished that they were of different background. As with anything, people react to it in different ways, that's part of what makes us human. It can come down to any number of things.

Well...Heidi's "Buy you at market for 5 dolla" comment was..'slightly' racist, but it was mostly due to context and the current vibe of the situation lol.
 
yes, there are people with ginger hair who wish they were blondes ... there are people with brown eyes who wish they had blue eyes... there are people with receding hair who wish they had brad pitt's hair... etc etc etc ... nobody is perfect! NOT EVEN MY MUM

so geez, people... please...... we're LUCKY because there are SOOO MANY people who have really FUCKED UP conditions to deal with, but we don't (or at least, a lot more difficult than the challenges you and I have to deal with). So BE GRATEFUL!

Maybe you need to put a bit more thought into your responses. That kind of response is not going to convince anyone. Fortunately most people (that aren't blind Tahan supporters) look at what I and other are saying and see the logic in it. Your argument relies on people being gullible and having a simplistic understanding.

I am grateful for sure. I disliked the French language when I was very young, all I wanted was to speak English and now I do :) I still hate my accent though

People don't like Tahan, but she is a pretty girl(?!), I can see how that would be confusing for you: The sooner you admit that your love of Tahan is purely superficial the sooner we can all move on.

Lol Jazz is a stupid idiot! She was nothing but a bully herself!!! What a hypocrite to say they are bullies when she and Heidi had their own 'bitchy' thing going on. Plus she was about as interesting as a rock! So glad both ugly women got out!!! :)
 
Tahan's a bitch but I would prefer to watch her over Mikkayla any day. Tahan brings lots of liveliness and drama, whereas Mikkayla is alright but just kind of irritating and not very interesting. In saying that, I would still prefer Mikkayla to stay over Ed.

Quite the achievers aren't they.

And I find your posts interesting. But I assume you have just googled like me, and made assumptions.

We don't know anything.

I do know Tahan's appearance stands out more than Mikkayala does in every city in Australia, maybe Darwin is the exception.
But Asians sure don't feel out of place anymore, anywhere in Oz.
Newcastle can't be that white is it?

And what about her life outside NT?
She went through the same as Jade, moved to Melbourne, boyfriend dumped her , she focused on her studies and completed a degree.
Melbourne has plenty of arsehole racists - and they especially hate indigenous people.

There is a whole lot more going on between these 2. They early on appeared to have an agreement or to have sorted stuff out.

I find it very interesting the at the end of his/her posts that is being condsending to other posters is always the LOL. Much like how Jade accused Tahan of laughing at the end of saying something mean in order to 'cover it' many weeks ago. Seems they are more like the person they hate, then the person they are fighting tooth and nail to defend.
