Last movie you saw

Last movie seen World War Z....Hubby said that I have an involuntary scare technique where half of me stays on the chair (it's just a movie right?) and the other half of me (the top half) is flailing around in terror...poor dog got a fright and thought she was being attacked and hubby almost fell off his chair..once recovered though he spent the next hour laughing at me.

Thanks goodness I did not go see that at the movies and Thank goodness not in 3D...although I do think that anyone sitting near me would have been scared to death...I can't help it and you never know when the involuntary scare reaction will occur
 
Yep, 100% recommend We're the Millers.

It's unbelievably funny! You won't expect it, and will be pleasantly surprised at how good it is!

Grown ups 2... Ok ok I know it wasn't that great but I still loved it.. I'm a big Adam sandler fan and I liked it regardless

Worth it for a couple of laughs.

I have a question though, the African American family... Was the "whaaaaaaat?" Some kind of in-joke I should have known about?

I honestly didn't get into the show that much until the last month or so. I am also busier. I do find there's a lot less to comment on this year.

Stunning film, it's one of those things where you watch it, you're engrossed in it and you also have no idea how they did what you are seeing. The film looks superb. It's an easy film to nitpick the reality of a bunch of aspects, but there's no point. With out this, there is no film. So I forgive them for having things all in a similar orbit.

I'll see it again before it goes off the IMAX 3D. Definitely a film worth seeing in 3D on the biggest screen you can. Honestly the best special effects work I have ever seen. For a film thin on plot and all effects, it doesn't matter. Disaster in space, trying to survive and what plot there is, works really well. Also so much great imagery and symbolism through out.

I wondered the exact same thing.. But later when the mum and son did it as well I figured it my just have been used as a family quirk to link them together ..

Other than some realistic and stunning views of earth from outer space, and the general make of the movie to be as close to actually what would happen in outer space (they have real astronaunts help In the making of the movie), I found the whole movie a massive bore fest. Then again I found Castaway brilliant (went to see it twice in the cinemas)

Agreed, would have no interest in watching it again.
 
Director's Cut of The Hobbit.

Liked the additions. Could live without the explicitly spelled out ;Thorin doesn't think you are good enough yet' storyline. A sideways look early on, a shaken head, and then a pursed mouth and a nod of respect would have worked better.

The rabbit chase still looks fake, like the warg chase in Two Towers. Some of the chases are too long... but the history was good, the race relations too, and the extras add something - it is the extended chases and comedy/action scenes from the original film that drag on, and not the new stuff.
 
Oh, I loved The Hobbit. I gave up analysing the films I liked when I left uni.

(Which is a lie. I still do analyse them. of course. I just don't analyse them to the point where I don't enjoy them.)

I saw this at the movies with my sister. It was great. I haven't laughed that much in a movie in a long time.



The last movie I saw was Paranormal Activity 4. It was so bad.

Agree. Gravity is a great move and should definitely be seen in 3D. Even if you are one of those who gets nauseous watching 3D (I don't) you will probably find it OK as the space aspect means all the movement is slow. Definitely see at movies. A home TV screen would not do it justice
 
I watched The Fly (1986) again after David & Margaret named it as a classic.

SFX really out of date now, but still some genuine lookaway horror moments. Jeff Goldblum perfect for the role and Geena Davis so goshdarncute it hurts.
