In The News

In my opinion she was damned before her sensible heel even hit the marble floor to her office.

There were a lot of things that "did her in", I think it was part boys club, but I think the careful manipulation from the media, which the average Joe gobbled up with a spoon, played a huge role in cultivating doubt and negativity regarding her leadership qualities, work ethic and capability to run the country. But ultimately it was the opinion of the vast majority of Australians that is what ended it for her. While I can't for the life of me understand why she is as hated as she is, polls don't lie. Under her leadership Labor was going to see their greatest loss in history come September, the only way to save some ground was to bring back Rudd. For whatever reason, it would seem the staunch Labor voter loves him.

I respect and admire Julia Gillard, and I am super sad to see her go, particularly under such stressful circumstances. I think she was a wonderful Prime Minister and she has proven that if an ordinary middle class ranga can become PM, the only thing stopping us reaching our full potential, is in fact us.

I believe history will be kind to her, it will give her the honour, appreciation and respect she deserves, however I don't think it will be as kind to the majority of Australians in relation to how she was treated while she was in office. I just feel proud I was never one of that majority.

Vote 1 Labor

Agree on all counts.

Last night a whole swag of ALP zombie pollies did the honourable and correct thing and resigned from their current positions.

Guess how many of those zombie pollies were wimminses
.

lol.

In other news, the report on the Heiner affair (which involves both KRudd, Swan AND the G.G) is due out on June 30th

... and the AWU fraud/scandal investigation involving marxist sexist racist emily lister fabian socialist Julia Gillard is still going on and still may well see her brought up on charges.

Yes, I am aware that she claims to "have done nothing wrong" but based upon the bare faced lies she has told us, the oz general public, I see no great reason to believe her.

From what I've read, she is already trying to water down the terms of the leadership challenge re: "retire from politics" and instead now is saying that she won't contest her seat ... which obviously doesn't rule out contesting some other seat or taking on some other kind of political type position.

Sensational what happened in that abortion filibuster.

2 new heroes emerged

Wendy Davis - wow, 13 hours she had to remain standing and speaking and she came in her pink nikes

And then this, woohoo, power to the people, they go nuts.

mummy, take my hand not my life ...

2 new heroes emerged ... Wendy Davis

So, to you, a hero is somebody who advocates the torturous murder and dismemberment of the unborn in the very location that is supposed to be synonymous with safety, love, family, and comfort ?

That those who seek to protect unborn life (and rights thereoff) are the villains ?

Deem "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!" included !

We must be in the last days indeed if the pre-meditated murderers (and their accomplices) of the unborn are unashamedly hailed to be heroes !

Come judgement, surely the likes of those punished @ Sodom & Gomorrah will fair better than these more modern generations and our wholesale slaughter of millions upon millions of unborn children !

That so many people appear to no longer see/realise the evil of it only helps reveal the need for Heavenly intervention.

I wonder how much longer it will be before our Creator declares "Enough ! This far and no further ! Repent or perish !" ... and basically finishes of fulfilling what He started to read when He stood up in the Synagogue and read from Isaiah around 2000 years ago.

Soon, I hope.

I must like the only gen y that sees through kevin Rudd.

Nah I knew he was carefully manufactured to win votes from gen y with his kev 07 campaign. He had speech therapy and all to make his voice easy on the ear etc. I'm typically a lib voter anyway so it certainly didn't wash with me.

Yeah I'm a swing voter but I'm done with labor, I don't see how a divisive party can run a country.
I dunno who ill vote for, I hate everyone equally.

As usual you miss the point entirely, I said not a thing about the issue she was fighting for - my point is her valour in standing literally for what SHE believed in, and the people of Texas remarkably taking politics back for the PEOPLE.

"No words could compel those who had already made up their minds about what is right and what is wrong to reconsider, because those words were not allowed to be heard. No words could describe the electric feeling of a granite-walled chamber being filled with the energy and spirit of people who, despite all valid reasons to be convinced otherwise, choose to still believe in the basic tenants of democracy, of autonomy, and of freedom, sitting patiently through hours of a clock ticking down on their collective fate.

But then, something happened.
Twenty minutes until midnight, a question was posed by Senator Leticia Van de Putte. A question that came, slowly, from a careful, sticky-sweet voice of measured outrage. Twenty three words that were the only words left for the only question left to be asked and answered: "At what point must a female senator raise her hand or her voice to be recognized over her male colleagues in the room?"
The answer began as applause, but soon became a deafening, outcome-changing roar.

I have been asked if it was planned. If we were encouraged by someone. If we knew it was coming.

The truth is this: when you have no words left, when every word spoken has fallen on deaf ears, when the representative you have chosen to speak is no longer allowed to do so, sometimes all there is left to do is scream. The final 20 minutes of the people's filibuster was a manifestation of the impact of every word that had been said but not truly heard in the Senate that day.
Because while the Republicans in power chose not to listen, we had been listening. We had been sitting. We had been waiting. We had no words, but we stood and we had a voice.
"

Remarkable and inspiring stuff, power to the people - I would have thought something you would admire, and re abortion I'm pro choice and unless your a liar so are you for you profess LOUDLY against nanny state control in personal life.

How can the Liberals promise no carbon tax and compensation and LOWER electricity and gas prices? The shadow Treasurer in SA is blabbering on about this now on radio? If you go to the 5AA website I think it's there now.

Also Tony wants to bring back work choices WTF?

I just cannot get my head around you deciding that your creator would be A Ok with the way you speak about other human beings. You cannot have it both ways.

Anyhoo, I am pro the view that the unborn should have the choice on whether to live or.

Well, that would be your problem and not mine, and I'm certainly not trying to have things "both ways".

Sorry sis but come judgement day you are not going to be able to use me or anyone else as your excuse and there will be no safety in numbers.

Indeed it is my problem that I find that I find it peculiar that a man who spews hatred is banging on about how his creater will judge others, the lack of insight is astounding.

You're like a forum version of the crazy guy who stands on the city street corner in a battered coat and bare feet manically screaming biblical quotes in a quest to convert those he sees as sinners, when in actual fact all he does is scare the fuck out of the normal with his misguided righteous extremism.

REGARDs

(your baby Jesus must almost choke on his own disappointment as he sits on your shoulder reading your posts as you type them)

You cannot have it both ways.

Of course you can, silly.

The righteous religious fanatic has been fucking the meek and vulnerable in the arse under the protective guise of religion since the first page of the bible was written.

All you need to do to redeem yourself is say sorry on a Sunday.

Actually considering we are apparently paying his wages now, it's of concern for all.
I'm concerned that an individual who's head is in outer space now holds a government job - just hope it's holding the stop sign for road works and nothing too responsible or demanding.

But forget irrelevant Derspatz.

What about the events in Texas? Fantastic stuff.
Especially now I have read how repulsive & oppressive Texas is. And soon to execute lucky number 500!

I saw these today and thought I'd post...
