The staircase entry only really works when HM's walk out of the house and in to the crowd as in BBUK or BBCA... A second level would be interesting as you put it just for the sake of something different, however I think a different look and feel can be achieved in other ways...

As I said in my other post, reducing the amount of two way mirrors and camera runs would make the house less of a studio and more of a home... Also lowering the ceiling height would also be dramatically different... A more open floor-plan like BBUK could be interesting...

and I agree with you in a way, just because there isn't anything Fancy in that room that would make it look like a Diary Room.
I doubt it would be a store room :P But it could be a pantry... a big one.. oh and why would bb put a picture up of a room that isn't going to be seen XD

Trust me, it is not (or never was) a Diary Room nor a "pantry" lol. :rolleyes:

If it's an existing room that they're about to remodel, it's almost definitely last year's store room that came off the kitchen.

This would be the kitchen store room.

Why? The DR last year was a hexogon. The shape of this room matches last year's store room. Also note the double door frame - why would this be in the DR? Also note the various power points which are quite high up - typical height for kitchen/laundry/bathroom. Also we've not seen photos of the kitchen/store room being "gutted" unlike the main house interior. And also... not enough one-way mirrors for cameras for a DR!

I've never heard the word pantry used to describe a bathroom/laundry/kitchen... Pantry usually implies something to do with food... Therefore Store Room/Pantry would be universally interchangeable...

Someone may want to use a dictionary next time...

I would like to see a backyard that has a bit of a town feel that corroborated with the theme of the series. It is hard to explain what I am thinking but I really do like the UK backyard. Another thing I would love to see is a rainforest type theme in the backyard with a cubby house type thing similar to the lodge in the UK backyard and just something completely different to the stock standard Big Brother Australia backyard that has a gym, a seating area, a pool, and lots of room for tanning. I would prefer to see the kitchen moved back inside as well.
 
The Aussie backyards have been pretty boring for years really - they made an effort with them back in 2001/02 and it was fit for purpose for the two house twist in 2003, but since BB04 can't say I remember anything too notable about the gardens at all. The most exciting design aspect I can think off was the rope swing and Nobbi's van back in 2008.
 
Agree with you Brekkie. Although I loved the 2006 garden it didn't have anything out of the ordinary. The 2012 House had a past, present, and future theme so I think Alex M will continue with the House having a theme for 2013. Anyone want to speculate on what the theme could be this year?
 
Sounds good. I'll be glad if they continue a theme again. The whole 13 thing has got me curious, and obviously it ties into the twist - hopefully it doesn't disappoint. What was that twist in the UK about the number 13? Maybe it's something similar to that?

I don't want to jinx it early, but I think I'm starting to realise that it's not completely Alex at fault for not bringing us exactly what we'd like to see when it comes to Big Brother as a whole. It obviously has a lot to do with Channel 9 and the decisions they're enforcing too.
 
Do the general public no longer have access to the ariel shots of the House that were being posted on here before the 2012 series? I wonder if the old FNL area is being rebuilt for the reinvented FNL for this year.
