If only....the 2 most horrible shows on TV.

And, I'm really missing some good scripted juicy TV, Downton, Revenge, Once Upon a Time......only Doc Who has come back.
I hope they don't make us wait for US shows, they all start again end of September.

That's what torrents are for, nothing networks or studios can do about Australian downloaders for the time being.

I'm currently watching the second season of Grimm which somewhat similar OUAT but I'm actually starting to enjoy it more.

Am on here lots today........an indication of the weather outside ? shitty cold and windy...no snow atm. Just grumbling, a nothing day 'sigh

There'll be plenty of great scripted shows that you probably haven't seen which are out on blu-ray DVD.

Sometimes it's good to get an excellent show when there's four or so seasons on DVD and just watch them over a few months.

Do some searching for things you might like, that may be out. Or even pick up some shows you never get around to watching or checking out. Stuff which has been out a couple years is generally cheap.

I'm catching up on Mad Men at the moment. Great to just get 4 seasons and work my way through it at my leisure. Did the same with Breaking Bad earlier this year.

Yeah there's downloading, but I think, eh if you can buy it you should instead of download. Or it kind of proves the point studios complain about. More and more I love getting a show, sitting down at watching it in a short period of time.

I'll second Breaking Bad, we just watched 7 eps on the weekend of series 4, I must finish it all before I accidentally spoiler myself and I want to actually read about the show without spoiling myself.

Entourage bit old now but that is a good series too.

Yeah, good advice, and I'm doing some of that already - JB have been having some great stuff on sale, so I'm following True Blood and Game of Thrones by buying the dvds.
And I don't want to have to download all the time, I was liking watching Revenge etc the old fashioned way.

I think kxk is complaining about the tardiness of Australian networks airing her favourite programs here which obviously aren't available on DVDs.

Looking ahead and October is gonna be a pretty hectic month for me. Several of my favourite will be beginning their new season at the same, on the same day to boot.

DEXTER
AMERICAN HORROR STORY
HOMELAND
OUAT
GRIMM (already airing)

Whilst on the subject of recommendations how about Game of Thrones?

Epic is epic. I'm not someone that's big on medieval/fantasy but it's successfully sucked me in.

Other series I've heard good things about are:

The Tudors
The Borgias
Six Feet Under
Boardwalk Empire
How To Make It In America
Californication
True Blood (latest season just finished)
Bored to Death

Not all of them are everybody's cuppa tea but some are bound to tickle people's fancy.

Hey what's this idea of reworking fairy tales into something different?

Snow White and the Huntsman now Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters......... What the fuckity fuck?

Bad enough they did that with Abraham Lincoln but WTF is this all about?

Hey Ders.....go kick that Dorsal's arse please....we have you, we don't need him :D

LOL, I would prefer we sick Ders on a few others up there, some of those tiny brains would explode trying to read something as long as a Ders post.
At least dorsal is generally brief and obscure - doesn't really have much effect. We need Ders to clean out all those - Die, HM threads

Fairy tales and their characters are the new vampires. Didn't you get the memo?

I'm kind of enjoying it actually. It's nice break from the boring predictable procedural cop dramas, sci fi and the like.

I guess. I didn't care much for the Snow White movie but did actually like Abe Lincoln....... Made me want to go watch Van Helsing again which I love

Still it's kind of fun up there.
Some of it's like standing in a storm of stupid though, best to just laugh and walk away you can't have a conversation with hot air.
