I thought it was amazing one time, I was in City Farmers and my bf signed up for the reward card which we both use. one time i forgot mine and they were like its okay whats the last name and im like "er.. such and such" and they just type it in im like WOAH... every other time in my life if they asked my name i say "such and such, its spelt blah, blah blah". hehe![]()
Lol, I've had that moment too. My eighth or ninth grade maths teacher. He spelled it right first go in the first maths class for the year, and couldn't understand why I was so excited, lol.
But yeah, I don't even wait for them to ask, I just go "Surname, S-U-R..." etc. They still get it wrong though.

ohh i can see that being annoying
my family is in a published book about the history of Albany (wa) but our name is spelt wrong in it. so im officially in a published book but its not really me hahah. and i feel bad for people trying to research the family as they wont be able to find anything with the wrong spelling.

Basically my last name is the German equivalent of Smith, Jones, Brown or any other relatively common last name.
I can't really get away with not spelling mine or it will just get spelled wrong. In fact most of the time I just spell it and let them say it however they want.
It rarely happens but I always get a kick out of people who pronounce the C. Then again these are groups of people who make up the majority of call-centre workers or telemarketers and often don't have the best grip on the English language. #petpeeve

wow very interesting

My boys names have never made the top 10 list (as far as I know) but they are not weird or obscure and are spelled in the traditional way.
They have never had a another child in their school with the same name (let alone their class) - granted, we do live in a small country town.

Seph do u want to share what the names are?
I read a website once this guy did all this working out of historical statistics to pick his sons names so that they were real names but wouldn't become popular

Julian and Tristan.
As I said, nothing special or out of the ordinary (and I know there are plenty of people out there with those names) but they are not particularly "popular" names (imo) nor are they obscure.
(Julian is 29 & Tristan is 19)

I like both those names...my sis named her (now I think 13 months not sure)Archie. At first I did all the jokes yanno "have anotherone and call him jughead" but hes such a cool nephew and as he grows he is very "Arch".
Like its "where are you off to Arch?" Actually I think he is 10 months cause hes doing the power crawl thang. I was very sceptical about his name (not that its really any of my business) but now I love it...it is very HIM. and hes my godchild as of Sunday

I met someone called Meggin yesterday. I can only assume that spelling was chosen instead of Megan to avoid it being from being pronounced 'Me-gan'?

Whenever I think of Meggin now, all I'm going to think of is half a pair of male leggings.
