The official line is that that both presenters decided to leave. This is Michael's statement:

“With Hayley going, and other exciting opportunities rearing their head, I’ve made the hard decision to also leave the SAFM breakfast show. And no…I know you’re all thinking it, but I won’t be taking up Port Adelaide on their very lucrative offer to join as a new full forward. Sorry Ken. I’ll still be heard on SAFM on the Weekend Breakfast show ( which is tops – you should give it a listen ) and have enjoyed every second at SAFM.”

Also was announced this week that SAFM would cease to exist. It will be renamed and overhauled. The new name will be Hit107 and the new breakfast announcers will include former Big Brother Housemate Dani Pola from WA.
