It happens with Idol as well. The runners up there get better record sales than the winners!
I think that can only be said for the second series.
Series 1 - Guy wins. Guy and Shannon successful in their own rights. Guy's latest album has just done double platinum, and sold more in a shorter amount of time than Shannon's latest, which has been out longer.
Series 2 - Casey wins. Does alright, though when Anthony releases he does get better sales. Could be partly down to the teeny factor though, with him being a male. Casey has just released a new EP. Who knows what will happen for Anthony's next release, with probably dropping quite a young girlie fans (with coming out), but also gaining another audience due to it.
Series 3 - Kate wins. She releases the winner album. Emily releases nothing. Then they team up with some other females who went through Idol to form the Young Divas. So just because of the fact that at least Kate has had a solo release through being the winner, I'd think she's the most successful there so far.
Series 4 - Damien wins. Gets quite good sales. Turns the series around again for the winner, after girls having won the last few years, and showing that there can be successful winners again just like it was with Guy. Jessica releases a runner-up journey album (which does so so), and then joins Young Divas replacing Ricki Lee.
Series 5 - Natalie wins. Has done alright so far. Too early to say anything yet, as Matt hasn't released anything. Will she be cursed as she's another female winner? Or will she be the first female to turn it around as just like Guy and Damien they were musos before doing Idol.
I don't think it is necessarily bad to win Idol. Stuff happened with the the second series, and then because of that some people seem to think the runner up does a lot better all the time, but when you look over it all like the above you can see it isn't really the case overall.
Bringing this back to Big Brother though, whilst I like Chrissie I did so want Reggie to win (was hilarious) and when she does show herself (on the times she's been on Uplate) she's still funny as ever.
Also, Aleisha is great too. Funny and bubbly!

Really bummed we haven't been seeing more of her.
