High-spirited panel ... meet the team for 7's new late show, Night Cap: Paul Murray, Jessica Rowe, Matt White, Zach Douglas and Monique Wright

IT'S not the six o'clock news or Sunrise deliriously past its bedtime but, if the first photo call for Channel 7's new late show is anything to go by, The Night Cap is bound to get a few laughs.

The latest brainchild of Seven's director of creative programming Adam Boland took its first steps yesterday, confirming the show's line-up ahead of its delivery on the network's high-definition channel on February 12.

Designed as a mix of news and views on the day's most talked about topics - drawing on internet and interactive viewer material - The Night Cap will lead a rush on new local programming in development for the new digital format.

Hosted by sports presenter Matt White, Jessica Rowe will read news alongside panellists Paul Murray of Triple M's Shebang and Big Brother favourite and '07 runner-up Zach Douglas.

Sunrise's roving reporter Monique Wright will also appear, alternating with Douglas, squeezing in spots around her packed schedule.

While new mum Rowe has only just got used to early nights, and with radiohead Murray still expected to be up before dawn for his breakfast show, the 10.30pm timeslot could prove the first hurdle for the program's presenters' to conquer.

If the two-nights-a-week format works on 7HD, it could then move back over to the mainstream channel.

Yesterday the cast was adamant the show would not just be Sunrise after dark.

"The timeslot means you can take more risks than Sunrise can do in the morning," Rowe told Confidential.

So, the jokes will get naughtier?

"I don't even swear," laughed Rowe, with Wright then quipping "Don't worry, I've got the dirty jokes covered."

Who would have thought in the first five minutes that we were introduced to Zach in big brother that he would have become this successful.

Just goes to show that first impressions mean absolutely nothing! I am rapt that the media gang have chosen him to have a go at this show. I really liked him and thought that he was a genuine nice guy.

Good luck Zach and all the best!

I give it 4 months. 6 tops. Its a really unappealing line up be honest. Parts bin special.

Oztam are yet to setup these channels to accept ratings so it won't matter for awhile. I guess 7 are trying to carve up this area first after their record winning year and high advertising revenues.

I hope it does ok in the long run as we haven't had many successful local late night talk shows....

Only if I can vote to 'vomit'!

It's MySpace. Everyone overexaggerates their profiles. They aren't meant to be taken literally.

Krystal Forscutt's on a tour of beauty in East Timor

WHEN you've got a bust the size of Krystal Forscutt's it can't be easy to keep steady, so she was in good hands among the International Stabilisation Force in East Timor this week.

The Big Brother babe has spent the past few days entertaining Aussie troops on a tour of duty funded by lad's mag Zoo Weekly.

Confidential hears the pin-up has spent her time signing copies of her mag spreads for the peace keepers and showing off the singing skills she acquired on Channel 7 karaoke contest It Takes Two.

"If anything's going to calm the situation there, it'll be Krystal in a khaki bikini," Zoo editor Paul Merrill said. "Hopefully her's will be the only bazookas going off."

Charming.

The Herald Sun reported today that apparently dear Krystal had a chuck in the plane and the soldiers weren't too happy having to clean up her mess!

Surely we have someone in Australia who is not only good looking but have brains! So disrespectful to our troops to send someone like her over....

I know it's just for the eye candy and it's a boy thing but I as a girl just don't get it!

BUFFED Big Brother bloke Thomas Haynes will put his biceps to good use next week when he begins shipping his and girlfriend Susannah Murray's furniture to Sydney.

After meeting inside the Gold Coast compound last year, the lovebirds have decided to move in together again and have rented a pad in inner-city Ultimo.

The move makes sense for Melbourne gal Murray, who has been regularly heading north for Zoo Weekly shoots and started a gig as an advice columnist for the lads' mag.

And Perth boy Haynes has been nominated as a wildcard entry in the Cleo Bachelor of the Year comp.

"I have been clicking 1000 times a day," Murray gushed yesterday about voting for her man.
