What's for dinner?

Well you're lucky! I love the sweeter side of food, I admit. Which is why I try and have fruits and nuts during the day or a yoghurt, to keep the cravings away. I love honey with my tea. But I do love tea on its own too.

If I had a choice put in front of me of either Ice Cream or a Meat Pie I would choose the pie.

I have not had a soft drink in so long instead I drink soda water when I have a craving for something fizzy.

I love tea so much last year my mum got me a tea pot for Christmas with a bunch of lose leaf tea from T2.

Actually the other day I did make a cake, not from scratch, but one from the packet. Once I have mixed everything up and put the cake in the oven I had some mixture left in the bowl so I ate it and after I have mad stomach cramps from eating the mixture. I won't be doing that again.

I'd go the ice cream. I have a strong dislike for meat pies :p but in saying that, I love desserts not just any sweet thing. But I don't have them often anyways. But when I do, it's really the most amazing thing haha. Which is why I have to have one of my yoghurt concoctions daily, it satisfies my sweet tooth and still healthy enough.

I don't like fizzy drinks. I'm those weird people that will have it completely flat if I was to have it, or needs it diluted with a lot of water. It makes my stomach grumpy and I honestly don't get the hype of those drinks. I'll have water anyday. But I do love tea. My grandmother used to place fresh rosemary and mint in a small saucepan with water and boil away and then strain the water. I do this sometimes too. It's one of my favourite relaxing moments of the day, to have a tea. (Yes, I sound boring lol)

Cake batter makes me sick too, I think my body responds to it because it's not used to having such things. It's used to healthy I think, maybe the same thing for you too. I once added avocado do a cake batter- sound disgusting yeah? It was actually delicious. No egg needed, it's a vegans dream.

I read that article about honey kxk. I've already began the teaspoon of honey at night. It's still early days, but I haven't craved sweet yet.

Cool, it makes some sense.
The Feast or Famine thing is worth checking out, seems to help all ailments.

The sweet tooth thing I used to have chronically. Like as a teenager I would go on sweet diets, just a piece of cake a day and other foolishness. I was so obsessed by desserts and sweets.

Now I couldn't give a shit. And give me a gourmet cheese instead please.
But I have had the ciggie cravings in the middle of the night - move onto lollies
Still enjoy a yummy pudding just don't seek them or drool anymore; and love pastries. Hate cream, and cakes don't do much for me.

I was afraid of meat pies and dim sims and didn't try one until I was about 24. Freaky mystery meats.
There were stories at school of a girl finding a tiny heart in her pie - urban myth, maybe?

I made meatballs tonight, they were delish. Also put my name all over the leftovers. No green things today though...only cornflakes, mince pies and now meatballs. I need my HM and her chart back...and we were so hopeful about the holidays...

Today I'm cooking for my boys :) We are meeting at a hotel/apt at Broadbeach (GC) so I'll cook their favourite carbonara one night and and pastry squares the other.

After the past few days of eating absolute crap over Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day I feel like shit. Does anyone have any good tips on a detox diet? My insides are not happy with me, I won't go into detail, but I think you guys get what I mean LOL.

I might just stick to vegetables for the next few weeks, no meat or any thing that comes in a packet.

We are eating leftovers, leftovers and more leftovers. Last night my hubby managed to set a plum pudding in its plastic bowl on fire in the microwave. Smoked and stunk the house out something shocking!

LOL, we now have 2 puddings in the cupboard, we never get around to plum pud, still have last years in there.

We have been eating ham, ham, ham.
With little delicacies I pop outwith as surprises - yesterday, Christmas balls = baby mozzarella, basil leaf, cherry tomato on a toothpick, the tommy burst in your mouth and they are yummy and refreshing.

There are 2 huge yummo salads, they have barely touched, all the main stuff is there ready to eat any time they want, lovely fruit, pastries, chocolates, whatever,

And I can just make treats. Today I made tiny savoury tarts, with goats cheese and caramelised onion.

Inigo, nice fresh salads, lots of lettuce & cucumber I find very soothing to the insides. And fresh fruit that is juicy, like mangoes, watermelon, all the melons. Try this I bet your insides will suck it up and love it, lots of hydrating is needed.

If you have a place near you that does wheatgrass shots, they are awesome, cure seedy disgusting feelings.
I have also found gelato, and soya milk soothing to tummies feeling icky.
And I tell ya, going for a swim cures most hangovers and icky feelings. Floating in water feels divine to me when I feel icky.

I figure get hydrating both inside and out.

Anyone find hams they are chucking out cheap now? Ham makes life so easy - and my boy is in love with the Christmas ham, took photos with it, he is in charge of carving and he loves it.
All he wanted for Christmas food was a ham like his late grandpa used to have, aww, he got his wish, and we remembered grandpa all day with little stories, it was lovely.

Thanks for the advice, I had a very large salad for lunch and dinner, with Cucumber, lettuce, red and green capsicum, carrot and letf over chicken. It did the trick I feel so much better. I've also been drinking green tea today non-stop, once I finish a mug I make another one. I don't normally drink alcohol so I think my liver got a bit of a shock from the past week with all the beer I drank and green tea is meant to clean out the liver.

Unfortunately I live out in woop woop pretty much and I have no idea where I would be able to find a place that sells weatgrass shots.

Eggs Benedict.

I have been trying to perfect poached eggs - for a few days over Christmas. Tried that MC gladwrap thing; free fall in water/vinegar; varying degrees of good and bad, mostly bad.
Now I have bought silicone poacher things. And Simon Johnson sauce in a jar - is divine.
Hopefully the silicone things will work.

Anyone have any poaching tips????

Some idiot either ate or threw out my Hollandaise sauce.
I have a fucked up houseguest, who may be no longer welcome.............hmm, hope My DJ ate it, that I can forgive.

They can eat leftovers.

Now I have to learn how to make the friggin sauce. Blender version.

Honestly I find the best way to poach eggs is in a mug in the microwave. So simple, fill the mug around 2/3 with water, crack the egg and then cook for 60-90 Seconds. I usually do it in little 30 second bursts, listen out for popping as it can explode and it sucks, a lot I have tried the glad wrap and the vinegar whirl pool and they were fine I guess, I tried a silicone thing once but the microwave method is by far and large the best for me. It's sooo easy and produces the best results, IMO.

Jessie. I'm sure you mean 60 to 90 seconds!

I've never made a poached egg before, but a few years ago I worked at this cafe and they poached their eggs in the microwave using one of these.

So today is my Dads birthday and every year I make beer battered fish (homemade) chips (store bought) and salad (homemade). I am stuffed after eating it, I think it must be the chips, I can't remember the last time I had potato.

Ooooooo that sounds cool, will give it a go.

Cold water? Or hot?

And does the egg, what shape does it end up? Round ball, flat???

For myself, I do eggs in the microwave without the water and with cheese on top, yummy quick meal on toast - and sort of like poached a bit.
You can also add a dob of cream in the bottom of the bowl with a bit of spinach, and it's a real meal (don't need the cream).

I made lamb roast tonight. It's been marinated in red wine, thyme and garlic and seasoned of course, for a couple of days. Some greens and mash and sauce made from the juices left from cooking the lamb. Yum!

I must be one if the few who gets disgusted by poached eggs. I dislike the runny texture- gag!

Just tap water is fine, the eggs usually come out pretty round, I suppose it depends how they crack into the water.

I don't eat eggs that often, but when I do it's almost always in the microwave. Some people are very reluctant to use their microwave for cooking and reheating purposes, but I figure that's what it's there for. Plus I am way too impatient to heat things on the stove, I sometimes eat food half cold because the microwave takes too long!

Oh yes.
People who afraid of the microwave shit me. I often have to hide the food went in there, fools.
It is clean, and a great non fat cooking method.

Thanks for the egg tips. Cold water - of course, makes sense, hot would make a mess.

And I might look for that plastic thing @inigo, that's what I thought the shop I went to would have. The silicone things are weird, they look like big red clown noses.
That thing looks like a cyberman face a bit...
