Never again
Are you suggesting that what makes no difference even for the goose might not be suitable for the gosling?
I'm saying ot thread is weird and i hope the rest of the world isn't as easily manipulated as the posters in that thread.

Living my sheltered existence, as I do, I forgot people got ticklish, cried when cutting onions and had daily meals in a prescribed and fixed order. It does take two.

It depends where you are. In Japan and Hong Kong it's whichever answer creates minimal fuss and bother.True. Very true. But what is truth?

Based on reasonable foreseeable expectation. It's a very ends justifies means approach. If bother was caused, you were wrong.Even if the bother is unintentional?

My sister and I disagree over my father's semantic use of deliberate and calculated omission to avoid lying. I think deliberate deception is lying, my sister says word games are fair play. You can rephrase anything into being technically truthful. Politicians use 'I would say' in advance of a possible lie to remove the burden of truth from their statement. My father just answers a different question positively.I remember my mum saying to me one time 'reepbot, if you ever get a girlfriend you must never lie to her.' After this year though i am kind of questioning that advice.

I think the constructive advice is to recognise dangerous decisions early and steer things toward vapid weather conversation, but that might require self-discipline because gossip is interesting.I think omission can be ok if the question is narrow. However open-ended questions require a bit more truth.

The problem is that i really don't care for small talk. And yes gossip is interesting.
I'll also put it out there that that situation could have been handled in a bazillion different ways and quite large personality differences account for the way it eventually played out.The problem is that i really don't care for small talk. And yes gossip is interesting.
I like small talk.
Good for you. Small talk for me burns my tongue. A painful burn that shrivels it up. I am just a feather. A feather trying to get some candy.

Good for you...
Oh the pain of it all! The waves crash over me. I am drowning. The water is filling up my mind. Oh does this water ever stop? I ask myself that so many times. But the answer is only inside my soul.
The great big misalignment of naive intentions and cynical perceived motives blowup.Wait. What situation are we talking about again?
