Violent Femmes - Self titled

It's too bad they never made another album as good as this but oh well.

Basement Jaxx featuring Me'Shell NdegéOcello - Feels like home

Groove Armada featuring Jeru The Damaja - Suntoucher

Great massive attack songs there, Connoisseur

Arctic Monkeys - Certain Romance

Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down

Nerd - Seeing Sounds

Sooner or later

Ignore the mediocre Beatlesque first half of the song, it gets a lot better from the 3:40 mark onwards with a mesmerizing guitar solo Hendrix would be proud to claim as his own. Nerd have this annoying habit of basically merging 2 songs in 1, I wish they quit it. I’m not being facetious when I say I shed a tear or two whenever I listen to it, it is that beautiful!

Other standout tracks:

You know what

I can’t recommend this album highly enough. It was the easily one of the best releases of 2008 by a fair margin.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Self-titled
Oh man this is so good. This is their debut album that is out in February and I'm totally in love with it. It's indie pop fused with dream-pop, shoegaze and a lot of distortion. It's brilliant.

Currently listening to Loveless by My Bloody Valentine for the umpteenth time. It's so good, one of the best albums ever made.

Etta James ~ At Last

just so beautiful.

(Wild At Heart is one of my fav movies too :p)

Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Waits' best album easily. It has such a primitive feel, a lot of the instruments just sound like random objects being banged against other objects. It's just really great and often very heartfelt. Tom Waits rules.

^ I'll have to listen to that. I haven't heard much of his music but I've been meaning to. I don't know where to start with him. I remember listening to something of his when I was younger and found it hard to get into. But then I've heard a couple of his albums have been a bit out there musically. Maybe that was one of them.

Anyways, I've been listening to Neil Young all day today. I'm going to see him tonight. Woo-hoo! :)

Cinnamon Girl ~ "the first time i did shrooms, this song was playing and it was awesome". Ha! Youtube comments are funny sometimes. :D

Ben Lee - Gamble Everything for Love
Tell me are you feeling lost, have you crossed
In the places that you never knew to get through
Tell me are you gonna cry all night
Tell me the truth, and I’ll tell you the truth
If you gamble everything for love
You gonna be alright, alright
