Does anyone else think that the tables have turned? All series we've seen Ben say how Angie is such a bitch, yet he's the one who's done the most bitching since the challenge started.
 
It will not matter if he is a bitch if he is nice to enough housemates to avoid nomination.
 
it's his gay nature to act like a female dog (bitch)... he will probably win BB because the powers that be are promoting gay acceptance everywhere.
 
Jesus Christ - I think you will find he manipulates the HM more than he is nice to them
 
I'm not hating, non of the other guys bitch like Ben, so it's his gay nature. Its very obvious actually, he uses it as an excuse. he's kinda two faced. but he will win because no one will vote against him in fear of being called a homophobe
 
ben's edit the first few weeks was queen bitch. they softened his edit after the cries of bullying took over facebook and other forums.

but this is (part of) the true ben. mean, nasty, divisive, two-faced, hypocritical.

i can't imagine why he struggles to hold down a job.

Josh and Michael definitely bitch as much as Ben in my opinion. It's absolutely ridiculous to attribute it to his sexuality. And it's ridiculous to say 'no one will vote against him in fear of being called a homophobe'... I mean, he got nominated the second week.

This^^. I don't think the tables have turned at all. He's been a two faced bitch from day one and they have shown it time and time again where he's sucking up to a hm telling them how fantastic they are and they immediately show him bitching about that person to other hm's. And Stacey is his little enabler. She hangs on his every word. I was quite surprised to hear some of the hm's say that Stacey was such a nice person with never a bad word to say when the daily edits for weeks had shown little more than her bitching with Ben about meepers and people she hated and wanted gone. I think there will be a few shocks in store for hm's as they get evicted re what Ben (and Stacey) is really like.
 
I don't think they will be shocked about Ben, Stacey maybe a little bit.
 
Ben was very bitchy early on. Some professionals on the board even had all sorts of diagnosises for him. I don't know about that. However the bitching and the mean attitude isn't anything new. It's just been less present in the last few weeks in the daily shows. I am sure it has been there the whole time..

There's no such thing as a "gay nature". Ben is typical of a certain type of gay man, the type who thrive on bitchiness and gossip. I'm sure that is what you are trying to say, rather than that it's because he's gay.
It's the same with women. There are a lot of women who are horrible bitches, but that's who they are as people, it isn't a trait of all women, or because they are women.

"Gay nature" is a stereotype, you are hating. And, except for the first night he arrived, we barely here Ben talk about his sexuality because he was adamant that he didn't want it to define him.

Edited to add: This is not to say that I don't think he's manipulative. I think he's very manipulative, and good at it, but it's not a extension of his sexuality. For example, Michael manipulates and gossips, but he is straight.
 
Ben has manipulated the game since the start. He seems to be dragging some other housemates down eg. Stacy and seems to always come up smelling like roses by covering his own back by confronting the the hm being bitched about and making out it is the others talking about them. He is very smart guy. He would annoy the hell out of me and be very draining to live with. Good gameplay but I think he is starting to be too nasty and sometimes cruel with his comments - I think things will all backfire on him soon.

He does do this. However, I'm not sure that he always does it in order "to actually damage and pull down the recipient in relation to him" the way you suggested in another thread.

While it might not be a good technique for tactfully delivering negative feedback, it has been promoted as useful for this purpose. I don't know if people are still being trained to use it but they have been in the past and it's quite possible that Ben sometimes sees it as legitimate and helpful to both him and the person he's speaking to.

This might not always be the case - for example he tried to pass himself off as trying to help Estelle when Ava arrived when clearly he had another aim. Also, I know that he went into the house saying that he could be a bitch and two faced. OTH it seems unlikely that he has been in that house all this time without developing any real affection for the others and he seems quite conscious of being a little older and perhaps needing to be a little more responsible and sometimes using his observation skills to help.

I thought that when he was talking to Angie in Thursday's Daily Show, at worst, he had a two fold intention for her. He wanted her to think about taking responsibility for her own behaviour - but he also seemed to genuinely want to help soothe her and boost her sense of self-control. His expression while he was hugging her at the end looked different to the normal range we've seen from him - I think he felt some of her pain.

He is very good at manipulating language too. He is a master at saying "I think you're fabulous but there are some negative things being said...." or "I think you're fabulous but it's annoying some of the hm's when you...blah blah.." or "I think you're fabulous but there is some bitching going on about you when you....blah blah" What he doesn't say is that he's the one that doing the negative talk and the one getting annoyed and the one doing the bitching. He's very good at redirecting the negative comments as coming from the others and, as you say, coming up smelling like a rose, and a very concerned and empathetic one at that. He's self serving and a liar by omission. Of course this being a strategy game, then he's doing very well at it but he's not someone I'd want in my close sphere of friends. Or on my outer rim for that matter. Actually I'd rather he wasn't anywhere near me.
