Tim the psychopath - his tricks, and Ed

I think Ben described Tim well in his farewell speech. You can love him, hate him, then go backing to loving him again all in the span of 10 minutes. I find Tim to be hyper-intelligent and as Zootbrown stated, he likely needs constant stimulation because of it. Tim reminds me of 'that kid' in class who needs constant attention (good or bad), then it turns out he's just bored because the work isn't challenging enough and so disrupts everyone.

Hi Ed's brother! How's the trickery for votes coming along?

Of course I know the difference, and I see traits in many people that are not diagnosable disorders.

And from personal experience you need to consult a psychologist/psychiatrist who specialises in personality disorders. In my relative's case they were forced to seek treatment under court order, which may have helped a bit.

So since you understand the difference and know that only a psychiatrist can properly diagnose a mental disorder. Do you think you could refrain from making uneducated and misinformed statements about someones mental health??

Pretty sure that a psychopath would have been weeded out in the selection process. A genuine psychopath would have cracked like an egg on their first day, they couldn't cope with having themselves viewed 360 degrees 24/7-they tend to thrive on secrecy, or selective sharing and cameras catch everything.

Hes not a psychopath..he probably has adhd and shows all the evidence of a person who needs constant stimulation but that us what makes him entertaining. His honesty is disarming in that he is honest he is playing the game. Far more disingenuous are the ones who are trying to say they arent playing a game.

Tim just said multiple times on tonight's show that he isn't playing the game anymore, so your point is moot.

also, he isn't a psychopath - he's just a clever, immature boy who has adhd and was obviously bullied at school by popular, good-looking guys like Ed.

Here's a brief intro to how Tim's (and psychopaths) minds works.
(First of all he's closer to borderline traits than antisocial traits but thats another story)

Its all about control. In Tims' case, start calling people "idiots". If they don't respond and complain, just keep on taking it further and further. Start abusing them to their face etc and wear them down and create chaos. In the end Tim can call anybody anything he wants and people are too warn down to react. If they complain, twist twist the story to make out you are the victim. That is, the victimiser pretends to be the victim. In the end you control people by wearing them down and "gaslighting".

This is what Ed is trying to point out in his unsophisticated way. As soon as Ed & Tim talk about Tim's behaviour, Tim sees this as a perfect time to play victim again and try to confuse the audience & add more chaos.

The manipulator (Tim) will often brainwash followers into their own mini cult, and in this case the cult includes part of the TV audience. The followers seem oblivious to abuse & will follow their leader regardless, a sort of Stockholm syndrome.

The manipulator never admit to manipulating anything, and redirect everything back to the accuser.

My background: Close relative with a personality disorder, I've dealt with these tricks for decades

OP... I think you taking this WAYYYYY too serious !!! There is nothing complicated about this at all. This is NOT a holiday camp where ordinary people are under secret observation. Its a televised game show in which the object of the game is to outwit your opponents until you are the last one left, with a massive smile on your face and a 250K cheque in your hand. END OF !!!!

How you get to that final step and win the thing is entirely up to you. So all kinds of skullduggery, mind games, treachery, alliances, breaking alliances, the whole nine yards.... ITS ALLOWED !!!

Tim is a master game player, the best in there. He deserves to walk out that door with the money if we are basing it on tactics and moves up to now. No question. The others hover all around him, and a great deal of their air time is based on either trying to outwit Tim or bitch about Tim, instead of playing their own game and showing us what they are made of, that moron Ed being the best example.

It would be a whole different matter if your opinion was based on observing Tim in his everyday life away from the show, but all we have to base an opinion on is the game.... and Tim is a hell of a player to sit back and enjoy watching. Its a human game of chess in there and Tim is the Kasparov of the house !

I think you can take the statements tonight that he isnt playing the game anymore with a grain of salt. Tim does appear to suffer a crisis of conscience/ confidence every now and then especially when wrong footed. The eviction of ben definitely shook him up and he doesn't appear to have had a chance to regroup since. Of course this is based on some lf and selective editing by bb

That's not true. She just uses a different method of feeding her ego (being emotional) and she has no regard for other people but herself.

These are very strong claims that I highly doubt you can successfully back up, but I'd like to see you try.

And I say the same to you. Just because someone has high emotions does not equate to caring. And I don't feel like summarising the whole Tully show just for you.

Tully has shown compassion towards many of the HMs and she was always very upset when people were evicted. If you're going to call her a psychopath then you're going to need to justify it to sound credible.

Great post. Tim does have a personality disorder. A lot of the public have been sucked in too. Poor sheep. He uses the diary room to manipulate the public. However to their defense Tim gets so much diary room air time. We might as well call it Tim's diary room. I don't know how people don't see that Tim has issues. He point blank said I want Drew to go home so he could get closer to Boog. So cold blooded. His best friend. The guy needs help.

Hi everybody! My first post on here, I'm in freezing England - I wish we had your sun! Just wanted to say that I think Tim is a fabulous housemate. I love his wit and quirky ways. I don't see anything wrong medically with his personality, he's just having fun in there - and doing his best to win. He's doing it in an entertaining way, unlike Ed's desperate attempts. Hope Tim wins, and I would love to see him, Tahan, Drew and maybe Jade make the final.

Would also like too add that I wish our BBUK was as good and entertaining as BBAU.
