I'm in the same boat.

It appears the situation is that Nine are controlling absolutely everything and Alex has to grin and bear it.

So by that logic we should all feel terrible for bagging out Alex.

But I don't. Because Alex has put himself out there as the public figure of this show. He's the first EP of BB to make the BB persona all about himself. Previous EPs were actually relatively private people. So even if Nine are controlling everything Alex is happily slapping his name on this show and it's reasonable he receive the feedback.

EDIT: Actually in any Big Brother series around the world, or any other reality TV show, when have you actually seen the Executive Producer do so much personal PR work as Alex M?

I just wish Foxtel would pick it up, skeleton staff to run it & just feed it onto a pay per view type channel...

EDIT AGAIN: Not to mention all the promises Alex makes about the show that are broken two weeks later. If Alex knows Channel 9 are going to get their grubby mits on things then perhaps he shouldn't be making promises he can't keep.

Exactly @Tim, you've summed it perfectly. I'm confused about my thoughts on it for the same reasons you listed. I'm also a little saddened that it's even gotten to this point. Channel 9's disrespect for the show was clear right from the start this year, long before the promos even started. But Alex hasn't been a saint about it either, in my opinion.

It's just a shame that it's going out on such a low like this.

What's worse is we're not even past Week 2 yet!
 
Sorry, but I'm not convinced. If Tim is trying to further his media career, why would you say things against an exec producer?

Sure, he's singled out the Network, but hasn't exactly targeted anybody in particular (unless we believe that Gyngell is the target).

As for the network having so much control, it's true, they do. Even the casting special from 2001 makes that point. But Alex would have known what was going to happen when he gave all those pre-season interviews and answered this forum's questions. It's just BS.
