This is great, watch the video:

They have had such an unprecedented amount of votes they have had to get extra people in to count them. They are still hoping to announce an official winner before Luxton, Peters, and Seymour can come to some agreement on how to run the country though!

So close! 😆 John Oliver, he's a good guy. Great free publicity for Forest & Bird and NZ as a whole.

^^ uh, because they're green with a Queen? They've been green with a queen my entire life, and I'm older than you.

According to Wiki the NZ $20 looks like it was the Green one with the Queen on since 1967 when the currency was decimalised. By the looks f it Canada didn't do Green Green like NZ until the 2000's. NZ went polymer 1999.

Our $20 bill has been a shade of green since 1937. The colours of all Canadian bank notes have reminded essentially the same since the Birds of Canada series. The $20 from that series was release in 1991.

Still a bit of a reach though. NZ only had a $20 note from 1967 (replacing pounds), and the Queen was on all denominations until 1992 when she just happened to be retained on the green $20 while the others got notable NZers.

So, we got a green Queen $20 in 1967, and you didn't get one until 1969. Hmmmmmmmm
