But lesmurdie is on top of a hill!!!...!

Yep, that's how much rain we had. My room's roof sprung a leak and so I had to move about a third of my class desks into the middle and the carpet is now all soaked a squelchy

Phoar it's 30 degree here today (Southside of Brisbane). I've been sitting in the loungeroom with all the windows shut and I have a cardigan on, no wonder I'm a tad warm haha

You should have everything open like me! It's a beautiful day with the sun and breeze yet here I am inside stuck cleaning!

The air conditioning was broken today at work - of course, on first warm day why wouldn't it break. Kitchen's are not glorious places with no air con. :(

The weather in Melbourne this December has been the coldest since 2006. It's just terrible. I mean, for Winter it's ok, but for Summer? I had to have the heating on this afternoon and evening! And the rest of the week is just going to be in the low to mid 20's dropping to the low teens at night! I don't care for the heat, but I don't care to still have the heater on at this time of the year either!

It is raining in Chinchilla! RAINING! We had forgotten what rain is. Hoping it continues.

Wow! That's crazy! That's the same temps we're experiencing on this side of the world. The snow from last weekend has been melting off, and now we have a chance of more snow tomorrow.

38C in Perth today... 39C for tomorrow/Sunday and 40C predicted for Monday....

and in about 4 days Sydney and Melbourne etc will have those temperatures (at which point it will be national headline news because a stinking hot day in Sydney or Melbourne is FAR more important and newsworthy than a stinking hot day in any other part of Australia, so lets make sure we put it on all of the news broadcasts at 4pm, 6pm , 9.30pm and the late news at 11.30pm...)

Certainly not the time of year for shepherds to be washing their flocks by night ...

Ah, but what has December really got to do with the birth of our Creator, Lord, and Saviour anyway ?

The bible certainly doesn't indicate that the birth of our Creator, Lord, and Saviour occurred in December. It instead indicates that it happened at a time when shepherds looked after their flocks out in the field at night ... which ain't in winter !

The bible certainly doesn't mention anything about Jesus being born in a stable either. It merely says there was no room at the inn and that the baby was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. That is to say, by an animal food box commonly found by a building or road).

The bible certainly doesn't say that there were just three wise men or that they were anywhere near Bethlehem on the night of the birth. It actually says that there were three GIFTS and that the magi (it doesn't say how many of them there were) turned up at the HOUSE (not manger) where the CHILD (not baby) was and that, based upon the fact that they had visited Herod first which resulted in Herod ordering that all the kids under the age of two to be murdered, it may have been anything up to two years before the magi got to give those gifts and their worship.

Etc etc.

Oh well. At least it does say that wise men sought Him out ... and were led to where He was at that time.

That bit is just as true today so I guess there is no harm reflecting on that even during Saturnalia and the rest of the silly season.

Anyhoo, LSCP has just finished watching "Ben Hur" on Blu-ray so I guess it is time to start getting ready for my work Christmas do.

Thank God / hallelujah for holydays, yes ?

SeanE, we care about you on regional Qld news shows. Perth's heatwave made the news here several times.

And the Arctic Vortex is freezing the USA, whatever that is.

Can't say I feel much sympathy for Poms, they have had an attitude about climate change - spraying aerosols with merry abandon, hoping for climate warming, yes that is what they used to laugh and joke about.

And when is summer coming to Melbourne? I have a lovely newly decorated veranda waiting for balmy nights and alfresco dining, hmm.
