The Voice 2014

Thanks lovers!

Ok so...

I was ready to throw something if Laura-Leigh got booted over Jess. I haven't cared for Jess from the beginning so instead of my usual second-hand embarrassment tonight I was laughing my ass off when she sang. She comes across too cocky... I reckon there's something dodgy about her. Like she's been taking voice lessons all along or something. Either way good riddance to her and the Voice Lady who I thought for sure Will would give a second chance to. Gah she was ridiculous too.

And am I missing something with Kat?! She started to sing and after a bit I fast-forwarded as I've heard better at high school talent shows. Then suddenly Kylie's put her straight through and I was like WTF so I rewound to listen to her whole performance. Was it not awful? I feel like everyone's in on some sort of joke and I'm the only one left out because I don't get the love for her at all. I'm hoping when Will high-fived Kylie for choosing her it was because he was thinking there's one less competitor he has to worry about because it just doesn't make sense to me.

See? This is when being hideously old pays off. I can't remember any of them! Although I think I remember seeing Kylie Minogue at some stage.

I agree with you too Mrs Butterface, especially about the ridiculous surely-a-tranny (not that there's anything wrong with that) "Voice Lady" and the also ridiculous cat-eared girl.

For me there's something missing with the voice this year. I know they said they made it a mission not to focus on the singer's backstories as much (and at the time I heard that I was like woo finally!) but I think it's come at the expense of people being able to connect to them and care how they go.

Like last year there were so many artists I felt emotionally invested in and I wanted them to keep going in the competition. This year I don't really care how far any of them progress. I mean I want to see Mat go well but that's just because I know him. If I didn't I don't think I'd care.

I think that's where the show misses Seal a bit too. He was so good at connecting the artists to the viewers and making us care about them. Apart from Ricky I don't get the impression that any of the coaches this year really care, and as a result I think it makes it hard for the viewers to either.

Mondays I don't watch - I have dinner out of the way early, and settle in for House Rules & Revenge.
I catch a bit in adds if I can be bothered.

Anyway I reckon the Greek rock dude is going to win - and INXS should snap him up:)
But I do not watch all the singing, I catch what I can.

But what I want to know - what happened to the first winner? Karise is it?

All the comparisons between Dami I'm and Elly Oh fell flat last night.

Elly Oh's performance wasn't a scratch on what Dami can do.

To Elly's credit she can sing a lot better than she did last night. Picked a horrible song for herself - which a few of them did *cough* Holly *cough*

Yeah I'm not saying the can't sing.

But you have to give it to Dami. She was note-perfect on almost every occasion!

She was! One of those amazing singers where you almost think they must be lip syncing to a perfect version they'd recorded and edited earlier.

Elly Oh has said she was inspired by Dami :)

The rift between Voice Australia star Sabrina Bashton and former friend Alex Haddad has escalated to court.
Actor and TV talent manager Alex says he has applied for an AVO against Sabrina, 29, out of concern for his safety, although the evidence for his claim is unclear.

Informing the Daily Mail Australia about the scheduled court mention on Wednesday, Sydney local Alex, who has appeared in the TV show Fat Pizza, said he 'had no choice but to file for an AVO against her'.

The pair reportedly fell out after years of friendship when Sabrina first found fame on the reality singing show The Voice Australia.

'We were really good friends,' Alex told the Daily Mail Australia in an interview. 'I’ve known her for eight years, we have been friends for five years and I was her best friend since December last year.'

'It was friends, it was best friends. Nothing romantic, nothing romantic whatsoever. I give her credit because she's a very good singer.'

Alex said the pair had a close friendship that included him coming along to Voice rehearsals as support and taking Sabrina around town on various errands, such as visiting the doctor.

Alex claims they had a falling out in early May and since then have had ongoing problems.

I went to Voice rehearsals and I took the doctor and

Nine Network have advised The Daily Mail Australia that neither they nor Sabrina will be making comment.

Wow! It might just be sour grapes and nastiness on his part, though. She's got a super voice, but I don't know how she'd manage a successful career if she won't fly.

Gee, you would think he could just creep away somewhere until after she gets through one last final week.....
That makes me think he is a wanker hitching his famewhoreness to somebody who could win this thing,
When she sang Sia, sublime.

Have kind of realised now why I lose interest in all of the talent/singing shows - it is depressing, so much talent, so many dreams and it all comes to nothing mostly.
All the gorgeous voices that go nowhere, where are some of the sensations we have heard from series 1 & 2, and where is the 1st winner??????

The Voice Kids - why???

Why are they doing this to kids?
Australia cannot sustain careers for adult singers - including contestants and winners from this and other shows.
With our population, it just isn't viable for more than a handful - one hand.

And it is all so weird, one kid at 13 looks and sounds like a woman of 30, and another kid at 13 looks like he fell out of a faery tale, Peter Pan.
A 10 year old girl looks like she is 5, a 6 year old looks like she is 13.
Kids are too varied and magical to compare like this.

And for what? They get to make a cd and then get thrown away???

But i couldn't stop watching, it was fascinating actually.

This boy, wow he's so pretty

And he is cute, that was his face when he got his first cheers, the crowd liked his first bit of singing, it was very endearing

And if you google Alex Haddad, seems he is more a property owner/landlord than an actor.
And his last media bits - about chucking tenants out, Nov 2013, when he apparently became besties with Sabrina - huh?
Did she chuck them out for him (LOL, his words are odd and childish, he's known her for years and they become besties at a specific date, WTF).

And - when he was thrown out of the after party for 2013 AACTA Awards, apparently he was a pest.
And unless you are facing a dangerous psycho, there are far more efficient ways to remove people from your life - quietly.

Sabrina will win easy IMO. The court case and the show.

Yep.
Now I have caught pretty much everyone's performances.
Sabrina is on fire, and Jackson is smouldering - and the rest, I can't remember when I see these 2. I feel I could fall into Jackson's eyes, and Sabrina takes me flying.
( but that drummer boy is a cutie, love lanky drummer boys with cute smiles)

I thought I'd have a look at The Voice Kids. I must be over-tired because I just teared up when the Madden boys turned around for a totally talentless kid. How can parents do this to their babies? What happens if no one turns? It would be crushing, and can you imagine the school yard? Or does someone turn for all of them?
