The Voice 2014

Ugh, I watched all the Battle Rounds pretty much just to see Laura-Leigh's performance and hers was one of two that they didn't air, just my luck. I didn't mind watching them rally, but it totally tripped me out. I feel bad for the contestants that were left out, I guess they aren't exactly the producers favourites.

I was talking to a friend of mine last night who actually knows family members of both Elise (the girl who battled Laura-Leigh) and Emily Rex and apparently their families are livid with Channel 9. Neither girl got through so it was really their last chance to sing on TV and neither battle was shown. Pretty disgusting.

Seems Ch9 with their favouritism and selective editing strikes again.

It's pretty deplorable, I would completely incensed if I were either Elise or Emily or their family members. I know Laura-Leigh was pretty devastated, but at least she - and whoever Emily was up against - will get another opportunity to get their name and face out there. I watched L-L vs Elise online and Elise was really good! That alone could've been her big break. There is sooo much filler crap that they could have cut out to show some respect to everyone who was talented enough to get to that point. There was that horrible Green Day Battle Round of Joel's that I guess was worthy of airtime because it was kind of amusing because both were so bad, but I would've preferred to see some actual talent or at least a fair representation of all contestants.

I think with these things they have winners picked out pretty early on. As you say, classic Channel 9 really.

It's the nature of tv unfortunately.

I had some cousins who got three 'yes' voted from the judges on X Factor this year, however later received a phone call saying they didn't make it through to boot camp regardless.

These shows are no longer about creating and fostering real talent. They are about bolstering the judges profiles and ratings for the network. The talent are just pawns in the game.

Elise's dad asked on the official FB page why those two battles weren't shown and whomever was running the page simply posted a link to the official site to see the battle with no explanation as to why it wasn't shown. Obviously they have the same people running the voice FB as they did the BB one. Just not good enough. The videos don't even show the coaches comments. Terrible scheduling and if they didn't do those stupid constant recaps or so many ads they could have shown all the battles. Or at the very least they could have cut some of the poorer battles (and there were a lot this year) in half so all could be shown.

one word for this

The battles between Chita and Emily, and Elise and Laura-Leigh were not broadcast.

It's unfair to the two winning singers whose battles didn't get broadcast! If they get eliminated first rounds, could be they didn't get that extra fan base needed for votes, due to lack of airtime? and the 2 losing singers could have done with the little extra promotion for their future music careers.

I'm watching the Emily vs Chita battle now and that's HEAPS better than some of the horseshit battles they showed. I can think of two all male battles in particular that I fast forwarded through who won them because I felt neither deserved it. Someone tried to do this to my kid I'd be setting up battle stations outside of Ch 9's right after the show aired. No excuse for that at all on a show that relies on public voting to decide the winner.

I wonder if ch9 will have them make special guest appearances on The Morning Show or something this week to make up for it... since there seems to be a lot of online chat about, or just pretend it never happened.

I'm going for the latter. They'll bury their heads in the sand until it dies down and never acknowledge that anything dodgy has gone on. Typical 9. I should have stuck with my boycott I was planning.

She has The Voice AND the body! Reality singer Laura-Leigh Smith shows off her toned figure in a yellow bikini during PDA filled surf session with her boyfriend
There is no doubt that she can belt out the high notes as a successful contestant on The Voice Australia.

But 22-year-old Laura-Leigh Smith has proved that her skills go beyond just singing after she was spotted surfing in Sydney on Tuesday.
Laura-Leigh, who's on Joel Madden’s team on the reality show, flaunted her beach body in a tiny yellow bikini while frolicking on the sand with her surfer boyfriend, Jack Entwistle.

I can't remember, do they usually let the artists choose their own songs like they are this year? Most of them have terrible music taste :wtf:

I *think* they got to choose them last year too. Some of these people try to do be too muso-y for their own good I think.

How do we do those spoiler alerts so what I write is hidden by a tag?

Code:
[spoiler]the winner is..[/spoiler]
[DOUBLEPOST=1402311618][/DOUBLEPOST]
You can either go to "insert" a few along from the little emoticons tab, or you can just use spoiler tags which are [ SPOILER ] text [ /SPOILER ] minus all the spaces.

Thanks lovers!

Ok so...

I was ready to throw something if Laura-Leigh got booted over Jess. I haven't cared for Jess from the beginning so instead of my usual second-hand embarrassment tonight I was laughing my ass off when she sang. She comes across too cocky... I reckon there's something dodgy about her. Like she's been taking voice lessons all along or something. Either way good riddance to her and the Voice Lady who I thought for sure Will would give a second chance to. Gah she was ridiculous too.

And am I missing something with Kat?! She started to sing and after a bit I fast-forwarded as I've heard better at high school talent shows. Then suddenly Kylie's put her straight through and I was like WTF so I rewound to listen to her whole performance. Was it not awful? I feel like everyone's in on some sort of joke and I'm the only one left out because I don't get the love for her at all. I'm hoping when Will high-fived Kylie for choosing her it was because he was thinking there's one less competitor he has to worry about because it just doesn't make sense to me.
