THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

That sounds a bit defeatist. Should people not scrutinise Andrews or expect more just because the situation is worse in another country?
No I am not saying that. Yes there are thing that need to be scrutinised and done better, but the reality is that things in Victoria are far better than in many places in the world right now and some people are treating Dan like he is the worst human being in existance. Can you expain to me why Dan should be hung and quartered yet Trump is ok to stay in his role, yet neither of them have done a perfect job in thier leadership roles before or during this crisis.

Trump is a foreign leader. The management of the pandemic in Victoria should be compared to the management in other Australian states and not Florida or California. Those are part of a very different and troubled country.

I think Dan should be assessed relative to how other Premiers in this country have responded during the pandemic. This is all I expect and Trump is irrelevant to that. Comparing Dan to Trump comes across like a deflection in my opinion.

Has anyone experienced Australians trying to deflect the conversation to Trump when someone is criticising Dan Andrews?
Well I‘m not in Australia at the moment so I don‘t see ALL the media about Andrews. AND I just deflected the lying and dying comments above, so... yes.

But is it fair to compare Victoria to South Australia when South Australia has not had to deal with anywhere near the same amount of people travelling from overseas? Of course it looks like it has done a better job, but I don't think as a state we have. Social distancing is a joke here. Even in the same hospital I have seen three different social distancing rules in the space of 50 metres. I fear cases from Vic getting here, because if they do it will be be a dogs breakfast. They decided to open the borders back up just before Vic got bad so its been way more good luck than good maangement we have not had a huge resurgence here.

its the interesting thing about this country that I noticed after moving from NZ - the news is quite state centric. Living in Melbourne it could be really hard to hear about other states and what was going on sometimes. (especaially now so many newspapers you have to pay for to read articles from). Now living in Adelaide but as I am technically a Vic employee and all my workmates live in Melbourne I get to know a lot about what is going on by talking to them and all of yoy, but not sure how much I would know otherwise.

So yes I can imagine living in another country the news would be even more sparse.

And as I think I wrote a few days ago, there is zero social distancing in some places over here. And also no masks in some places. Not sure what to make of it all.

Interesting that you picked South Australia for comparison. Why not a more internationally-connected state like New South Wales?

Because I live in south Australia and therefore is the state other than Vic I have the most knowledge about. I am not up to date on the the state of play in nsw to comment on it. Nothing to do with any agenda. Everything to do with the lack of news in this state that I can access that provide me with unbiased information on nsw so I can provide a discussion. News.com.au doesn't exactly cut it.

I bet you would be one of the first to criticise and demean a Liberal Premier if they were in Daniel Andrews' shoes....

Geniocracy you blind? Similar to meritocracy but more universal
Notthing to do with gender
GENIOCRASY....not Gyne whatever you dreamt up
Having a bad hair day? I don't appreciate being spoken to in such a manner, you don't know me. You can save your insults for your comrades in the socialist snake pit.

Btw, gynecocracy is a thing which you would know if your sanctimoniousness would allow you to consult a dictionary other than your socialist glossary. . I have obviously overestimated your intelligence.
