That anger and hatred can be easy emotions to be swept up in. Right wing leaders saying "oh i understand your pain" by providing them with surface level ideas to fix the problems they face in regards to their job situation.

I got a strong science/male arts/female association, but it bugged me that you had to sort the words into those two groups first, and then change to sorting into science/female arts/male groups. It seems to me you would always get worse results when they flip the associations because you've just learnt to do it the other way. Though maybe they take that into acccount.

I think it's just part of a ongoing rejection of the complexity of modern society and rate of social change itself that's been happening since about 1980. That's was about peak-rationality for Western civilisation. That's my two cents.
