The missing pieces – extra information about the show/ housemates

I'd be interested to know more about this “Real Life Dave” skit the HM's are doing.
I wonder if it started out as way to ridicule him? Hopefully David sees the funny side
When did Sandra tweet about it?

Sandra tweeted Sam, "Ryan is doing a Dave in the life!!!" during the show when it aired - which made me think they had done it previously for sure.

With all of the BB series, they get dull near the end with fewer people so bringing in people near the end to shake things up helps. I can't imagine only taking to 5-10 people for 2 months it would get soo boring

Yeah it's been a weird one this year - four near the end, and two earlier! I can't remember a year we have had this many HMs! They did bring new life which is great, but I probably would have preferred just to get to know the existing ones more. :)

Did I blink and miss the bit where Skye was screeching like a banshee to persons unknown that was supposed to be on tonight?
I think we saw this years BB officially jump the shark tonight with the piss poor attempt at the ad for the air freshener. Firstly the biggest fail was that fresh fish doesn't smell, especially when it's wrapped, which, with it being inside what looked like specially constructed extra long pockets which were inside a coat, ie at least two layers of fabric - the coat and the pocket, it effectively was..and secondly they seemed to need two units to cover this non existent smell. Mega fail. And besides, Penny is very polite. She'd have never mentioned a smell even if she did smell one. If I was the air freshener company, I'd want my money back.

Exclusive Clips: "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" - Leo's Theories on Skye
Classy Leo says he will always appreciate Skye - despite learning she was crushing on Ryan.

(There's a really interesting bit from 3:35 where Leo talks about what he thought BB would be like - including 'clocking off' at around 7pm like it was a job :) )

On the end of #Skylo: Skye’s a young girl. She’s only 20. She’s remarkably astute and curious and she wants to learn and grow but at the same time she’s just a 20-year-old girl, and you know, her emotions are everywhere. And you add the pressure of being in the Big Brother House and everyone kinda gets confused about how they feel and what’s going on. And I think that time apart [in the Sanctuary] really just was a bit of ‘out of sight, out of mind’, you know? And when I got back, things were different.

On drifting apart: Small things can become gigantic and small cracks can become giant fissures and I really think that’s what happened. A few small cracks between me and Skye because of the pressure of the game just ended up being a massive fissure.

On Skye’s attraction to Ryan: Skye just wants to take as much life as she can get – a bit of everything. And so for me to be away in the Sanctuary and her to start to have feelings for – or begin to get attracted to Ryan – is perfectly normal for Skye’s behaviour. Because Skye was in a quasi-relationship or really involved with Jake and then the minute I walked through the door that kinda ended and then we started. So it doesn’t surprise me and it doesn’t hurt me or offend me.

On the future of #Skylo: If me and both Skye feel like we don’t wanna interact with each other on the outside and we don’t wanna pursue any kind of relationship or involvement with each other then we won’t. And neither of us will be angry or upset about that.

On food, glorious food: I would do more exercise in a day than most of the Housemates would do in an entire week and I just needed the food. So, not a surprise. I think I handled it as well as I could, but again, in the Big Brother House, any point of difference, anything you do that’s different or can be taken as a negative will be totally blown up.

On ‘Leo’ … or is it ‘Ryan’? Leo was a nickname that didn’t really take off in my time in this country, but a lot of my friends and family back home call me that, and I like it; it suits me, you know? So I might keep running with it.

Love how nobody blinks an eye with the age difference with Skye/leo. None.
Then so many won't stop going on and on about how Cat has passed her use by date. Over the age of 30? As a woman, YOUR LIFE IS OVER. 8 years is considered a nothing difference when a man does it - as long as the girl is legal. :poop: bs.
I think Leo (a grown ass man) hooking up with Skye (a child in every sense) is disgusting.

Priya said they've been told Ryan was the most popular. By Who.. Travis?

I wondered that as well. Do you think it might have come from the ‘loved ones’ when nominating? At least two of them nominated Ryan for strategic reasons I think (ie he’s popular and a threat) so maybe that’s what Priya meant?

The other thing that this clip highlighted (ie Travis mentioning the fish) was that the ‘date’ with David and Penny happened before the Hot Seat (and discussions about them the next day). The order in which it aired implied that the date came after all of the drama, and it made me wonder if BB did this to:

a) Make David look bad – picking Penny for a date even after all of the flack they got.
b) Make Priya look bad – shown continuing to comment on David and Penny after she’s been asked to drop it.
c) none of the above, and they just wanted to end the show with a bit of a laugh prior to Leo’s eviction (ie me reading too much into things lol).

Either way, it sucks that the clips were shown out of order and without more context – but I guess that’s the nature of the show these days...:(

I know, I completely agree with you :( I find it really creepy on his behalf. Like, a grown ass man should know better than to aim for someone who is close to jailbait age. Just because someone is legal doesn't mean you should. I find it hard to believe he is only 30, looks like his mid to late 30's to me. 30 going on 40, but an attractive 40.

Leo's thoughts on the HMs

Thinks Priya is the most strategic, and playing the game the way it was meant to be played (talks about ‘classic BB’).

Skye believes she was born to win BB and wants it more than anyone.

Ryan is laid back and has been himself the whole way through. Is ‘in it to win it’, but doesn’t have the same passion about BB as the others. Doubts that Skye actually likes Ryan, and would have to see it to believe it.

Travis is everything you want in a BB champion. Always put his best foot forward and didn’t hide behind his faults.

Penny - the most unique and strange person.

Lina represents the geek in all of us.

David is an unique personality and a straight shooter. Way more than him than meets the eye. Leo also thinks he’s riding Ryan’s coat-tails.

Phone Call to Big Brother
Calls Big Brother (Leon?) from Mike's phone asking to go back into the house and has a bit of a chat. BB talks about how Leo leaves a heartfelt message for someone (assuming Skye) in his farewell video, but apparently all the HMs comment on is how great Leo’s teeth look.

"Strategy Dave" reveals the shave was a sham!
Australia's favourite strategist reveals the much talked-about beard-shave was planned long before entering the Big Brother House!

resizer.aspx

In this exclusive post-Eviction interview, this year’s most Nominated Housemate chats uncensored about his “Shavid” transformation, his love/hate relationship with Priya, and his devastation that “Chloe from Chippendale” was a hoax!

Direct Link to Video (41.5 M)

On his first strategic move:
I did say I’d never shave my beard off, but that was maybe strategy move number one… The people and the public will always want what they can’t have. If you were to ever speak to my friends or family before coming into Big Brother, they knew that the beard was coming off at some point during the game. I never thought it would be as early as it was.

On who made the decision to shave:
Tim opened my mind to shaving it, but he had to work for an hour and I still believe that it wasn’t Tim that made me shave my beard; something clicked in my mind… My beard came off for my survival, and the survival of Sandra at the time, who I felt somewhat responsible for.

On what Leo whispered to him on Leo’s Eviction night:
Australia, get ready because I’m about to tell you what Leo told me, and it is that… ‘Take this to your grave David,’ so I’m not going to say… It was in relation to something that happened in the House recently.

On who should’ve gone tonight:
Priya. Priya needs to go. It’s all game talk; there’s nothing else. She doesn’t go to the gym, she doesn’t go for a swim, she doesn’t go in the sauna, she doesn’t jump in the spa; it’s just yack yack yack, game game game, talk talk talk, whinge whinge whinge. Enough of it!

On butting heads with Lisa, Priya, Skye and Lina:
It’s not a bad thing; if you can do it in the right way it can bring you closer together… I believe I don’t have girls like them in my circle of friends; they’re not the type of girls I would like to befriend… They’re not compatible characters with mine.

On an important lesson learnt:
I learnt one of my biggest life lessons in this game from Lisa, and that is that it’s ok to wipe the slate clean, start again, and go for it… I can’t wait to see her again, and that’s not the truth for a few of the other Housemates.

On discovering “Chloe from Chippendale” was a hoax:
That’s one of the biggest stitch-ups I’ve ever been a part of! That is hysterical. I can’t wait to see Lawson, Sam, Rysy… I tip my hat to you boys; you’ve done yourselves proud and you’ve definitely got one up on me.

On what the real “Chloes” can do to win his heart:
Be yourself, be funny, don’t take yourself too seriously… And be willing to take things slowly and to give me my space when I need it! Being single for 31 years, you’re going to need your space.

On who he’d HATE to see win Big Brother:
Skye. I myself am a massive fan of Big Brother and, for me, the winner of Big Brother is an advocate for the people of Australia; that’s who they represent. If Skye’s representing Australia, then we’re in trouble team.

The real shame is that the video about swapping HMs was never shown on the show at all.

What a contrast between this Leo interview and the one below with Dave. Mike asks Leo to say why each HM should and shouldn't win the show and Leo finds a way to say why each HM shouldn't win the show without saying anything nasty or unkind. I wish we had seen more of Leo, he is so articulate and such a positive person. I felt like I know more about Leo from this interview than from his entire time in the house.

Dave on the other hand seems very insecure, nasty and unpleasant. He seems so desperate about fitting in with the cool gang which is kind of understandable at 20, but not at his age. Lina, Skye, and Priya wouldn't be in his 'circle of friends' ?? Come on David, don't you remember when you weren't being included in Ryan, Sam, and Lisa's 'circle of friends' ? Dave regrets calling Skye dumb. Not because it's a horrible thing to do, no he regrets it because it caused some additional arguments in the house.

The clip was a good one! Quite a few 'real' extra bits. :)

I remember that they did get to watch a couple of movies last year, but we at least got to see them settle in, grab popcorn etc.
