Not that I disbelieve you for one minute but I find it bizarre that she's an acclaimed musical theatre performer and she can't sing live? I've only ever seen televised versions of her appearances...never seen or heard her in the flesh so to speak.

Trust me, I can’t believe I’m saying it either. I’ve seen her live in Wicked! She’s fantastic.

But when I watched her before the tv broadcast she just wasn’t good. Perhaps she was sick?
 
Did Urzila give away that they know who they are?
She said something about seeing them getting their hair done in the dressing room. I know most of what she says is for jokes, but she shouldn't have seen the 'hair' of any of the singers.
 
I can easily believe that the voices are treated in production.
The cactus sounded pretty good singing 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' in costume, but absolutely dire with the mask off. I imagine the second version is what @inumeenu actually heard.
 
^ Maybe she's just no good at pop songs?

I've often wondered if what we hear is them truly singing in costume or is it pre-recorded? But @inumeenu was "there" and heard her live and she said she sounded like crap...I'm SO confused!

I actually think the costume songs are prerecorded. May be wrong though.

Sounded terrible both ways. Her and Queen have no vocal ability.
 
Cactus and Queen have fantastic vocal ability! I’ve heard them both sing live preciously - Lucy in Wicked and KMH in Eurovision.

Queen sounded better than Cactus on the night I was in the virtual audience. I reckon there’s a mix of pre-recorded / live singing and post production work too.

Bushranger definitely sounded the best on the night. Puppet, Kitten and Frillneck sounded meh. Queen was probably second best on the night for me.

Also. ALL of the performances I heard when I was in the live stream audience for final 4 were pretty terrible. I guess it’s hard to sing in a costume. They definitely do some post auto-tune / cleaning up of audio.
