THE COUCH - TV Chat Thread

They cancelled Counterpart???

I am actually pissed off. Favourite show at the moment.

It’s that fucking Starz network, they cancel everything.

I like Changing Rooms........give it a go, pleasant bit of fluff, new timeslot Friday & Saturday nights, makes more sense
Fast reno is a good reno in my opinion.....they get done in one night what 7 & 9 manage to drag out over 10days!!!

Changing Rooms
10, 7:30pm, Fri, 22 Feb 2019, 90 minutes
Changing Rooms

The new look Feed ABC.......is quite fine, new once a week 60mins, less esoteric and artsy.........the Get Rich quick thing was just what I always wanted to see.....
ie Behind all those weird and wanky web, "......here make money, easy peasy", crapola....but, I always stop at the but of course as does any thinking human.
The but = you must buy or provide banking details, and I have always been curious to see what does come next in these swindles
The Feed lifted the secret veils, very interesting...... scandalous

The Feed
'Get Rich Quick'
SBS VICELAND, 8:35pm, Thu, 21 Feb 2019, 60 minutes

What does it mean when that long lost cousin contacts you on Facebook and tries to flog you some makeup, protein powder or vitamins? It might mean they've joined a 'multi-level marketing scheme'. Pyramid schemes are illegal, but multi-level marketing schemes aren't. But it's not always clear what the difference is, and greed can make even the most reasonable person foolish. Tonight, The Feed takes a long hard look at 'get rich quick' schemes, to find out which are legit and which are bogus.

Series, 2019, Australia, English, Current Affairs, News, Season 2019 Episode 2

Did anyone watch Sunday Night Takeaway? Just wondering how one of the UK's most popular entertainment formats went down in Australia.

By the looks of it not many people watched Sunday Night Takeaway.

Ten’s Sunday Night Takeaway debut fails to size up to Nine’s Married behemoth

Ten’s new variety show failed to size up to the competition on Sunday night, with 383,000 metro viewers tuning in to Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway, which aired at 7.30pm.
By comparison, Nine’s Married at First Sight attracted its biggest audience so far this season, with 1.659m metro viewers in the 7.00pm time slot, according to OzTAM’s preliminary overnight figures.

Ten has a policy of sticking by shows that they have faith in, so I suspect it will last until the end of the year. maybe beyond that also if the ratings improve.

Personally I think it will probably improve if they get rid of the over bearing and full on personality of Julia Morris. She's a bit too much at times.

Same, I want to see it but it wasn't a priority, I watched MKR, MAFS and the Michael Jackson special.
Yes, MAFS was a must see last night. What was the Michael Jackson thing like. Was it a witch hunt, or was there proof that something had definitely gone on? I wasn't sure I really wanted to see it.

Agreed that MAFS was a must see, I'm glad I caught up in time to watch it before reading it online.

The Michael Jackson special (it was the one with the security guard, the other channel also has one with the maid) was interesting, but very sad. I don't think there can be any denying that he conducted himself inappropriately with children, and that is a crime no matter how talented you are. Whether it was mental issues, background or drugs (focussed on heavily in this special),there is no denying that the victims were hurt by it. The proof on this one was mainly a man who was 12 at the time, who showed a (child) pornographic book Michael had given him, and the actions around it.

I think it's something none of us really wanted to think.
I always thought he was that strange he'd not a sexual bone in his body, but obviously I was wrong. Really sad.

I'm watching it now. First ads and am finding it very amusing so far.
I'm wondering if we should start a thread for it - unless I've missed one that already exists?
