The Strain is about a vampire virus.
The year for me most of my shows were superheroes or reality.
The superhero shows varied. Daredevil was a great binge - probably the best superhero thing this year, since Avengers II disappointed and Any Man was meh. Arrow continued its style of being excellent on its best nights, but not always at its best, instead sometimes being a bit dour or self-serious. The Flash, however, was consistently fun, if not reaching the peaks of the Green Arrow. Iris needs to be recast, though, as she has zero charisma or chemistry with anyone. Gotham sometimes satisfied, but they are following the schema set up by JJ Abrams Star Trek, of just rewriting or ignoring 'canon' instead of coming up with clever new ways to explain it. Prequel writers are having a bad time of it. Better Call Saul was okay, though, although it doesn't"t feel like it has peaked yet.
I quite enjoyed some surreal comedies, too. Louie and Man Seeking Woman had their highlights. Rick and Morty was good when high.
Survivor had a pretty average season, but this next one should be great. I often read of people saying they don't like returning player's seaons, but I don't understand that. OK, All Stars was pretty dark, but Micronesia and Heroes Vs Villains are surely both in the conversation for best season ever. Cagayan was good after the merge, and Blood vs Water had good strategy and characters. Any others? Redemption Island was weak, mostly because Rob was just playing too well, and South Pacific was pretty blah, but even so, Coach started a cult and Ozzie fulfilled the promise of what a challenge beast can do with the Redemption Island Twist (a Twist which, surprisingly, actually seemed to work on BvsW.)
International Big Brother was all a bit interfer-y lately.
Anyway, that was my year on TV.
