I like the first series of a Place to Call Home, it was pretty soapy/cheesy but pleasant. Great female leads.

And like the rest of Australia, I now detest it after watching just one episode of the 2nd series - they went overboard on melodrama or whatever.
It literally repulsed me.
My sister is still hanging in there, I just asked her last week - are they still torturing the gay guy, and still dwelling on it over and over again???

None of the female leads need to be tied to this shit any longer, some awesome females I have now become acquainted with - not Noni, she is shit in this.

I haven't watched Vikings. Historical really doesn't do it for me. I didn't even really like Underbelly. Sitcoms, some drama and Sci-Fi (but not overly nerdy, more like Heroes, Walking Dead, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, AHS, Smallville type sci-fi over like Star Trek or whatever) are more my type of shows.

Calling Vikings historical drama..........well lets just say it doesn't belong with anything historical I have ever seen.

Vikings is totally your kind of thing - more in common with True Blood and Walking Dead than anything else, it's also watched by Game of Thrones fans.
It is freaky, wild, violent and action packed - it also has fantastic actors & production quality.
And I have to buy it as I got completely out of sync with episodes. Hoping SBS just repeats it all.
Viking women are fantastic:)

Next month SBS 2 will unleash vampires, Texas rangers and pythons when it premieres From Dusk Till Dawn, the small screen version of the cult horror film by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

The 10 part series, developed by Rodriguez, follows bank robbers Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and his violent, erratic brother, Richie Gecko (Zane Holtz).

On the run to Mexico, and wanted by Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Don Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia), the Gecko Brothers take former Pastor Jacob Fuller (Robert Patrick) and his children hostage. Using the Fuller family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group ends up at a strip club populated by vampires. With the law, the undead and some of Mexico’s most hardened criminals on their trail, the group must fight until dawn to get out alive.

Described as having “a healthy mix of sharp witty dialogue, bloody bursts of violence, vampires, and supernatural horror” the series deepens the tone and expands the storyline of the original film, adds new characters and backstories and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

8:30pm Tuesday July 1st on SBS 2.

Village Roadshow confirms Netflix is coming to Australia

Rumours of a local launch of the streaming company are rife, with speculation about a pending Netflix launch rising every few months only to be told by the company that it has no plans for the Australian market at this stage. The most recent rumour pegged an official launch in Australia for next year.

Speaking to ZDNet, Graham Burke, the co-CEO of Village Roadshow, which produces and distributes films in Australia, said Netflix was on its way.

"[On] Netflix, they're talking to our people about supply of products, so they are opening and coming to Australia," he said.

Burke did not put a timeline on its arrival, and although rival services such as Quickflix, Presto, and Ezyflix have moved in to fill the gap in the market by Netflix's absence, the move into Australia would likely bring an end to one line of argument used by people for online copyright infringement about the lack of the availability of a service like Netflix in Australia.

I would probably pay for Netflix if it's got the content. The only thing that would prevent me is internet speed now the NBN is history.

Well there are ways of already getting it now in Australia.

Let's just say I have seen it being used on an ADSL1 connection (8Mbps) and it works pretty well actually. I have also seen it working on an ADSL2 connection (around 12-15Mbps) and it works fine and mostly in HD.

Even if netflix launches in Australia the American version will probably still have more content on it. It will probably still be better to get the US version.

Whatshisbeardface is HOT but I'm not sure whether I like the pairing. I never thought Kiera would give up on her family (such as her equally hot hubby).

I loved Libre8 and Kiera teaming up. Hopefully next season we will be getting more of this kind of stuff.

I like him better than Clooney, and the guy doing the crazy brother is awesome.

This Mr hotty - just the way he twists his mighty fine head and pokes that fabulous jaw at ya :)

I dunno, I feel like Continuum tried a little too hard this season. Too much going on too quickly. And Keira hooking up with Beardsley (or whatever he's called) while poor ol' Carlos is left to clean his own revolver.

And they made me really like Betty before they killed her.
