andy muirhead, host of abc tv show collectors has been charged by police over a child porn offence.

the radio and tv presenter andy muirhead has been charged over accessing child pornography, the abc said.

"australian federal police has confirmed computer equipment was seized from the 34-year-old's home in hobart during a search on tuesday," it said.

Muirhead has been charged with one count of using the internet to access child pornography. His management notified the abc late yesterday.

Muirhead is on unpaid leave and will not present collectors on abc tv or the breakfast program on abc local radio in hobart pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.

A spokeswoman for the afp said a 34-year-old man from sandy bay, in hobart's south, was charged with one count of using a carriage service to access child pornography on tuesday.

Collectors will be off air until further notice.

Muirhead will appear in hobart magistrates court on august 2.

^^

stupid silly pervert, just goes to show if you do it, you'll get caught

Yep and just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover, I always like him, thought he was a gentle kinda guy :(

Did anyone watch Hamish & Andy's Caravan of Courage tonight? What did you think?
It had a few funny moments but it wasn't as good as I was expecting.

I saw it, I love all their on the road footage but whenver they have to do the scripted bits it falls flat - if they ever do another tv show it needs to be ad-libbed - they could pull off a Graham Norton style chat show / The Panel, something along those lines. No crappy sketch comedy.

I didn't watch it, but I believe it rated it's socks off and so channel 10 are keen to get the boys to do a weekly show.
I agree with ichi, whatever they do, it needs to be predominately ad-libbed though.

Gah; I'm so behind on a heap of shows I want to watch.. School holidays in a week, guess I'll catch up then :D

Also, not sure if it's really relevant here but, I've served Biggest Loser contestants four times in the past few months as well as the Sydney Bulldogs.

I served Cameron from the series before the latest twice just before Christmas, and his daughter Meghan on Christmas day. I hardly recognised her!!

I also served the contestant with red hair a few weeks ago from the latest series.

Yeah I agree.

Mia, being on straight after MC would have grabbed quite a few extra viewers that may have not changed channels to watch it. For example my mother watched it but she never would have otherwise and she wouldn't watch it again - she thought it was silly. ;) It makes you wonder how many others were MC overflow. I expected it to rate high because it had been advertised to death in the preceding weeks. I wouldn't be altogether sure it would do that all of the time on it's own. It wasn't bad but like ichi said, had it's dud bits. It just wasn't as good as I expected.

Ooh. What did they eat, Jay?
And was the red head Phoebe? Or Caitlin?

Yes, the flow on effect from MC certainly would have helped. I think the kind of people that have watched Glee would have chosen to stick with Hamish and Andy over the other alternatives on rival networks too.

Oh yeah, I forgot about it being in the Glee timeslot. That probably helped too.

I watched part of it because of the MC lead in and the fact that there was absolutely nothing at all on the other channels.

I really like Hamish and Andy but not these shows, I agree about their ad libbing stuff, it's much better.

What's this new show on 7 "I married a stranger"

What BS idea is this? They interviewed the girl on the radio today and she waffled on about how she's "her own woman" and stands up for herself and yet she let herself go on a reality TV show and have other people pick her "husband"...... What a crock of shit.....

Won't watch that but wanted to comment.

Last night the tv was on 7 and a show started about the Kardashians. I'd never heard of them until one of the daughters visited here a month ago and I googled her and read up about them. Last night explained about the family etc. etc. How much plastic surgery had the husband had, lol, his face looked swollen, tight and stupid. They all seemed mental to me. I watched the first half hour, that was enough.

Mental is a good word to describe them

i love the kardashians! they will talk about BRuce, the dad and his plastic surgery, he had a botched face lift, so thats why they look a lil funny.

I just saw a bit of Home & Away and how old is that guy supposed to be that has the schoolgirl chasing after him? He just seems way older then her and I bet she will get in trouble with him. Stupid blonde girl
