The Block: Glasshouse

Reading about you guys having "Block fatigue", I can understand - hopefully Nine takes note of this because it seems to be universal.

Although I can't really have a say. I've actually never watched The Block before this season. One of the early episodes this season happened to catch my attention (correction: Shannon caught my attention) and I actually didn't mind the show so I started watching, but I used to love renovation shows when I was little anyway (I was obsessed with Changing Rooms back in like the early 2000s, and I was only like 9 years-old... no wonder I'm a homo).

But yeah, even I can't keep up - I pretty much only watch the Room Reveals too, and that's it.

^ Nine probably couldn't care less about perceived 'Block fatigue' until it stops dominating ratings and demos, then they will just kick it to the curb and find something new haha.

When this season premiered to lower than expected numbers in the first week, lots of people thought they may have cooked the golden goose. However since then it's been number 1 non-news if not number one overall most nights and tops every demo.

I still love it, however I only watched season one (back with Jamie Durie) then none until Sky High last year.

I'm not sure if fatigue is the right word. I still record it every night even though I watch it live on non X factor days (first change this season) just in case I miss something. My heart is there and really wants to be into this season but I think the problem is moreso a combo of the couples this year and the spaces themselves as @mutleyp suggested. The couples: There is no one who is either polarising, universally disliked or for the most part loved but there's also not that pure reno part to compensate for it. It's just a lot of nothing. I hadn't been on the Facebook page in a week or so as it was so dead but I just checked now and it's more of the same this season... they're lucky to crack 15 comments on most pics - often with people complaining how this season sucks - whereas last season there'd be 200-300+ plus countless individual posts on their page. People complaining/loving the twins, Steve and Chantel, Brad/Dale, Madi/Jarrod, Trixie/Johnno. There is no couple this time that's inspiring any of that. I honestly don't care who wins - or if any of them even make money to be honest - and as @Kaz can attest that's a first for me.

And then with the spaces, we're half way through the reno and even after repeatedly looking at the floor plans, I still have no feel for what's going on with these places. Usually by now you'd get a sense of a home taking shape but it's all just so disjointed that it almost feels like Ch 9 went too big this time or chose the wrong spot or something.

I don't know. I said week 2 that it was the first time ever that I was choosing to record the Block and watch something else live so it's not a matter of my being tired of the show or just tv in general... I still want to watch it. It's just off this season unfortunately but I stick with it because I keep hoping it's going to improve.

This is the first time I am watching so I have nothing to compare to but when my hubby just got finished with a cabling job at one of our clients who are moving buildings,he took pictures to show me and my first response was that it looked like The Block. The trouble is that people cannot get past the fact that it looks and feels like a office building

Powder room, powder room, powder room... who writes this shit? It's a loo. Can't you call a loo a fucking loo? WTF is a powder room? Who even has a powder room? Who uses powder anyway?

I know especially at home. Most people use powder when they're at the club.

Every week is more disappointing - still look like offices, and it's a just a blur of flimsy black curtains.

Bed sales rooms, every week it is just more Mr Snooze.

Drove past yesterday, looks horrible, black & boring.
Dee is more horrible every time she opens her mouth. People help you out so what do you do? Bitch everytime you open your fishwife mouth:)

Wow, the whole flooring / stair issue for the D's is rather sad. They both look really heartbroken about it. It made me think about the rules that tradespeople can't be reused. It seems a silly rule in some respects, because tradespeople who deliver on time should be rewarded with repeat business, but tradespeople who are evasive and disorganised should not. By not allowing people to reuse tradespeople, they're just all treated on the same footing. (I know there are a million and one loopholes in that argument, but I would be so frustrated by being strung along about the flooring like that).

Favourite staircase was from the boys. HAWT ROOM!

I also liked Max & Karstan's staircase but definitely still needs a lot of improvement...

I think I have watched about 10 mins of the show.

I am over Scott Cam & Keith saying nasty things about the contestants. (I decided not to watch this series because of them)

The 10 mins I have seen, Scott Cam & Keith have slagged off contestants.
